“Borth-y-Gest, great B & B, fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

A lovely B&B, fantastic location, 5 minute walk to the beach/cycle paths, 20 minute walk to historic Reculver towers. Plenty to see and do in the area . We had a fabulous day in London, drove to Greenwich, took the river cruise to London and spent the day there. Greenwich itself, was interesting but will have to go back and explore further.
The B&B itself is very comfortable, lovely bathroom with en-suite, generous tea/coffee facilities, spotlessly clean and luxurious. The breakfasts are delicious and very hard to resist!! Fantastic hospitality. Make sure you watch the sunset while you're there, beautiful.

Room Tip: We had the en-suite room and the children had the twin-bedded room( bathroom not en-suite) but just...

Just arrived from Germany we spent two nights in Herne Bay on our way to a round-trip in England. We felt really welcome in the B&B.
The room was very nice decorated, everything was clean and with attention to details you could need.
The hosts were really welcoming and gave us a lot of advices for restaurants and visiting.
In the morning a good breakfast was waiting for us with full english, cereals, fresh fruits, jam etc.
When we come back in this area we would definitely stay again in this B&B.

My wife and I just got back from a 2 night stay at this excellent B&B. The facilities,as in quality of furnishings, cleanliness, comfort etc were excellent. Every detail seems to have been addressed with all the small touches adding up to a very enjoyable whole (some examples of 'small touches' are : bottled water, fruit, decent biscuits and pillow chocs all provided, plentiful and good quality towels, soaps etc, loads of info on local 'stuff' in the room, maps readily available etc). The service from Anne was professional and efficient at the same time as being genuinely warm and welcoming. It is located approx 50 mtrs from a footpath leading down to the sea where there is flat promenade / walk way into Herne Bay.
The walk will take approx 30 -40 minutes depending on how long you want to linger to take in the stunning sea vistas! Alternatively a minicab into Herne Bay will cost around £6.
Well done Anne and thanks for a great stay. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.

I was working in Canterbury for a month and looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend when my girlfriend came to visit. The family run b&b is small but privacy and space are easy to come by. The bedroom is well decorated with lovely furnishings, big fluffy towels and en suite with a cooked breakfast provided on request too.

Cliff top walks just a few metres away make this an ideal retreat for avid walkers and explorers as well as couples looking for a quiet place to unwind after a week at work.

The attention to detail is magnificent. On booking the room I merely mentioned it was a romantic getaway and on arrival we were greeted with after dinner mints and roses on the pillows!

Only stayed for one night but it was a great experience and would definitely stay again.

Arrived on a very foggy night so were unable to appreciate the view. The room was very spacious, immacuate and had special little touches such as a complimentary bottle of water. We had not eaten so our host showered us to a local eatery. Breakfast was included fruit, cereal, yoghurt and a full English. Our host were very welcoming. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for the final 10 nights of our 3 month holiday to UK and Europe. Ann and Gareth made us feel very welcome and my husband even made friends with Millie (their pooch). Ann's knowledge of the local area was very helpful and much appreciated. We had the double room with en suite which was very clean and comfortable, including little touches like shower gel, hair conditioner and a choice of teas including herbal teas. There was no wardrobe in which to hang our crumpled clothes, however, there was a clothes tree with ample coathangers. The house is situated on the outskirts of Herne Bay and only a short walk to the coast where there a fantastic views and coastal walks through natural grasslands. This was a lovely spot for us to relax before a very long trip. back to Australia. I would recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday.

I have stayed at Borth-y-guest B&B a couple of times and everytime was wonderful. Ann made a great effort to make us comfortable and feel at home. She made every singe detail perfect. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are decorated beautifully, one with an en-suite which is spotless. The rooms both had a gorgeous sea view, wonderful to wake up to! The breakfast was delicious and there was a lot of choice. Ann couldn't have done a better job and i cannot find a single fault about it. Thanks Ann for an amazing time!
