5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

My husband recently stayed at Starborough Manor, which is more like a small boutique hotel than a B and B. A beautiful location, with lovely gardens and a moat! Our airy bedroom was extremely well appointed, with a large window and tasteful coordinated furnishings. A really comfortable bed with high quality linens and towels. Everywhere was spotless and I appreciated the Penhaligon toiletries in the bathroom! The hosts, Jonathan and Lynn are charming and serve a first class English breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and every taste was catered for. We will definately stay again!

Room Tip: Knowing the owners attention to detail, I would assume all rooms are lovely.

Just spent a night at Starborough Manor with my children and had the most wonderful time. Rooms and bathrooms were beautiful and absolutely spotless. The beds were unbelievably comfortable with the loveliest sheets and towels - all very luxurious. The Manor is right next to a tiny moated castle so it's a stunning place to visit and extremely convenient for local places of interest. The owners could not have been more charming. Highly recommended.

Recently enjoyed a two night stay at Starborough Manor.

A B & B like none I've experienced before. High quality, tastefully appointed accommodation, in a lovingly restored manor house, family home.

I can only add to the list of positive reviews for Starborough Manor.

Superior quality accommodation, tastefully coordinated furnishings, fixtures and fittings, beautifully decorated with flair and attention to detail. Excellent, all day, breakfast!

Thank you Lynn and Jonathan for your hospitality. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to repeat the experience soon.

Starborough Manor is a fine place to stay.

Overall we would agree with all the comments below. the location of this property is great if you like us wanted to see the Historic Properties in the area. Lynn and her family were so helpful and actually with their expertise we re-arranged our outings. ALL that being said I am surprised that there are not more comments about the air traffic going over this house or in the area all NIGHT and day. We stayed for 3 nights- only because after the 1st night- it would have meant us to take precious time to find another location and we decided nope but by the 3rd night we were both beat and ready for much needed sleep. The aircraft is VERY loud just understand that and then you like us will not be disappointed!!

Room Tip: The room we had was off the hallway- and you went thru the bathroom to get to the bedroom which was...

A beautiful Georgian house, next to a romantic ruined moated castle. Large spotless newly decorated airy room. Comfortable beds. Delicious towels and robes. Enormous breakfast including fruit from the garden. Totally charming and attentive host. This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. Thank you.

I stayed at Starborough Manor as I was attending a wedding in the area. My adult daughter joined me for the second night.
The Mathias family are excellent hosts, combining professionalism with warmth. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Especially pleasant were the kitchen in which one could do one's own catering, the well-equipped laundry and the lovely sitting rom for guests. Although technically a b & b, home-made cake always seemed to be on offer.
Starborough Manor is set in beautiful countryside, and near many attractions. Yes, there is some aircraft noise, but one still sleeps well. Of course the proximity to Gatwick Airport is also a bonus. I recommend Starborough Manor highly and hope to return.

I stayed here with friends and family who had taken the whole place for 5 days on a self-catering basis for a family wedding taking place locally.
Location amazing, interior design and decor beautiful and elegant.
Other than the self-catering kitchen not being large enough for the number of people staying and lack of dishwasher, I could not fault the place.
