“excellent all round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This restaurant came recommended to us and lived up to their increasingly growing great reputation. I can only repeat all the positive comments here about the quality of food, presentation the impeccable customer service from the staff. Friendly, yet professional and with a practised ease.... they are proud of working there.
The biggest plus for me was the very acute awareness the staff seemed to have about handling our coeliac dietary requirements and the very clear, no-nonsense way that the menu was annotated to help us decide what was and was not suitable. My daughter -having pre warned them about our requirements- was made a chocolate fondant cake and for the first time in a while she could order "from the menu" without having to feel different from everyone else. I am grateful. if you are 9 years old, these things matter.
Our guests were very complimentary of the experience and we would go again- without hesitation.
The pricing is reflective of the quality of the experience and , not , possibly,on a par with local restaurants but if you are a diner who "fine dines" then it is reasonable. 3 courses for 5 of us was approx. £200- and worth every penny.
It did get a bit noisy later in the evening and a little warm, but we are getting older!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We had heard good reports of this restaurant but it actually far exceeded our expectations. It is rare for the two of us to have three courses each anyway but the first two were so good that we had desserts as well! All were beautifully presented and could not be faulted in any way.

The staff were really welcoming and welcoming.

We will dine here again very soon and are only sorry that we hadn't find it sooner.

“A 'Must' If You Are In Deal.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

The outside appearance does nothing to attract you, in fact could dissuade you from going in.
Don't be put off ! The chef has imagination and flair. The food quality and presentation is excellent and not stupidly overpriced. We went on a Monday evening and the place was really busy.
You will not regret going there.

“A delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

An unexpected little treasure of a restaurant, by the sea enhanced by wonderful service and a warm welcoming atmosphere. My starter of potted smoked haddock and salmon in cream with salted crostini was delicious ... As was my Goddaughter's home made pea soup. And her mother's roasted chestnut mushrooms were to die for.

The roast salmon mains and my chicken and chorizo with bean cassoulet were all of a high standard.

Desserts were all too tempting so we shared one of the best strawberry pavlova's I have eaten and all dived in to the selection of mini ice cream cones.

Had a slight wine problem in that the first bottle of Sancerre was delicious, but the next was not but this was handled in such a professional way ( with us being offered a bottle of bubbly at the same price as the Sancerre) that I felt awful having complained.

I will go again and again. Do try it but book. We went on a Monday night and it was, deservedly, full.
