“Excellent B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

I had read the other reviews so felt quite confident when booking to stay at Hallwood Farm and I was not disappointed. We stayed in the room named Fuggle and it was beautiful. It was really tastefully decorated and with lovely touches such as homemade cake and chocolate fudge which was delicious. There was fresh milk, elderflower juice and cold water in the fridge. The room was warm and cosy with amazing views that meant that we could just relax and unwind after a hectic week. It is the perfect getaway and after a delicious breakfast in the morning we went for a walk around Bedgebury Forest which is just down the farm track. We were very well looked after and Sarah made sure that we had everything that we needed without being intrusive. I would highly recommend Hallwood and try and stay as long as you can, one night wasn't enough!!

We have just returned from a 4 day trip to Kent, staying at this wonderful B&B.....cannot praise it highly enough. Everything was absolutely perfect and the room we stayed in - Brambling - was just lovely, so comfortable and perfectly equipped. The bathroom is gorgeous! We slept comfortably in the roomy double bed, and were spoiled with fantastic breakfasts each morning. Loved the home- made yoghurt and all the fruit! The room has super tea-making facilities, a fridge and a nice cosy sitting corner with an attractive electric faux woodburner. The nearby Gastro pub The Great House comes highly recommended and we ended up eating there each night. We were blessed with good weather, and there is of course an endless list of things to do and places to visit, many just a short drive away. Sarah, our delightful host, has provided fantastic information in various folders found in the room. The trip was of course too short and we will definitely return to this fabulous 5 star B& B soon. Thank you so much for making our special trip just perfect!

Sarah provides the epitome of comfort in her lovely oast house B and B. We wanted for nothing and we were so comfortable in our room. On a damp November evening we were warm and cosy. The bed was big and the mattress good,,the television and wi-fi worked and we had a cheering 'flame fire'. The bathroom is tastefully equipped with more towels than we needed and we had a bath with a shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and before we left we explored a little bit,, supervised by the well trained and friendly dogs,. We look forward to returning one day for a longer stay to venture further into the woodland, but meanwhile we have returned home bearing our purchases of Sarah's homw made produce and a couple of bottles of Hallwood Farm apple juice!.

We spent 2 nights at Hallwood Farm recently and can only agree with what everyone else has said about this place. The house is stunning, the rooms are amazing, the local area is beautiful and the surrounding villages are lovely.

We stayed in the Bramling room. It was comfortable, cosy and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, there was homemade cakes and a bowl of apples as well as chilled water, elderflower juice, fresh milk and a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolates on arrival.
There was lots of information about restaurants and the surrounding area in folders in the room.
The breakfast was delicious. Plenty to choose from, left us absolutely stuffed.
Sarah, the host was welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a stay here!!

Room Tip: Seriously consider driving on a night out as getting cabs back is a nightmare!

We stayed here for six nights in September. We can not elaborate much on previous reveiws, except to agree. Our room (Bramling) was very clean and comfortable, and large enough to have its own sitting area and large bathroom. There was a selection of teas, coffee and a bowl of fresh fruit. A silent fridge contained fresh milk, elderflower cordial and Sarah's homemade chocolates. Attention to detail was good with a tiny torch on the room keyring and an excellent compilation of local information. Our breakfasts were exceptional with kippers and smoked salmon on offer together with an incredible variation of fresh fruit every day, with homemade yogurt, bread and preserves. Sarah's traditional "full English" leaves little room for enjoying the local (including Michelin Starred) restaurants - but you must try them.
We were delighted with our stay at Hallwood Oast and thoroughly recommend it.
PS Cranbrook is a lovely little town, but you must visit the unique windmill.

This is the third stay for me. Sarah is the ultimate in hosting a B & B. She has a real flair for preserving the old oast into a beautiful B & B. She has a real flair for decorating. The bedrooms are spacious as are the bathrooms. There is homemade Elderberry Cordial in the refridgerator that is to die for. It is worth a plane ride over the pond for a taste.
The oast is an old hop dryer, but now Sarah's husband Nigel is in the fruit business. He raised black currents and apples. one of the varieties is an old English cooking variety, Brambly. Sarah made us applesauce from them one morning and it was the best I had ever had.
If you are coming to Kent, this is your headquarters. All the attractions are a short drive away.

Room Tip: Either room, they are both wonderful!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was a fantastic experience. We couldn't have wished for anything better, from the beautiful room with very welcome seating area, comfy bed and spotless bathroom to the wonderful, tasty breakfast. Sarah is the perfect hostess, with lots of local knowledge regarding places to visit and dine. Plus, she also makes the most scrumptious preserves, a selection of which we just had to bring home. We will definitely stay there again.
