“Excellent Food & great atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

We decided to try this restaurant as a result of seeing Neil the chef doing a cooking demonstration at a garden show earlier in the year. We very much enjoyed our Lunch there today, the menu was not so large as to be bewildering but appeared to cater for most peoples tastes. Everything was very fresh and extremely well cooked and presented, the table service was very efficient and friendly. It was a nice surprise that the restaurant was full with a very nice atmosphere! It would certainly seem to be wise to make a booking for this restaurant as it would seem to be very popular.

“The whole experience was excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

We visited this restaurant twice in November, on both occasions the service was excellent and the food surpassed our expectations AAA+.

We will certainly will be returning to this venue in 2012, together with friends and as a couple.

“Excellent food - just try to avoid the table by the kitchen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

This was our first visit to the Globe and Rainbow. We loved the setting - right out in the wilds of the Kent countryside - and the staff were friendly and helpful. We all thought the food was excellent and good value for money.

My only slight gripe is that we were given a table which was squashed right next to the open-plan entrance to the kitchen, which meant that staff were constantly squeezing behind us to serve customers. I can see the problem - the restaurant is very small and packing a decent number of tables into it must be difficult - but it was rather like eating in a corridor, and a rather noisy one at that, since the kitchen fan whirred loudly throughout our visit. If you can, try to book a table which is well away from the kitchen. And if you're visiting in winter, wear something warm; the room was chilly and the radiator was cold.

“Delicious food, first class!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

This is a regular stop when we are in the area - the food is always excellent and they serve a great pint of Harveys! Highly recommended by us, and all our family/friends who live nearby.

“Great for summer eating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011 via mobile

Located in quiet, pretty Kilndown, the Globe and Rainbow is a fantastic find. Sunny terrace to eat outside, with plenty of space inside.
Menu at first didn't seem too inspiring, but my red onion and goats cheese tartin was delicious (and very well presented). Tasty lamb burger too, but the roll was a bit of a let-down.
Good range of local ales and the superb Chapel Down Curious Brut lager.
Walks in the Scotney estate are just behind.
