I also stayed at the New Holmwood with my brother for the Mother's 80th birthday and found the staff so kind and helpful towards my mother, and very friendly nothing was too much trouble for them.We requested a table with a seaview as we were celebrating a special occasion which they provided for us along with a chorus of happy birthday, many thanks to all the staff for making it a very memorable occassion

We stayed at The Holmwood to celebrate my mums 80th birthday. The staff were outstanding and so friendly which combined with the unique views across The Solent made our special weekend so much richer, thank you. We highly recommend a visit here

Excellent suite accommodation. Sited opposite the promenade. Very good cooked breakfast. Service excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you ; nothing was too much trouble. Suite had a double aspect so light and sunny.

Room Tip: The suites are roomy with separate sitting area and 2 flat screen TVs. No swimming pool or fitness c...

What drives me nuts about this place is the separate ho and cold water faucets.
Basically its the old, fill the sink with both hot and cold, so its warm, then wash your hand or face, etc. In the winter, its worse, either freeze your hand or scald it...

Comfy place. Nothing special about the hotel. Dinner is pretty good here. Breakfast is a bit slow so give yourself sometime if you order the hot breakfast. The English breakfast is a heartattack on a plate. Fried toast, yes fried, sausage, eggs, grille or maybe fried tomato, etc.

right on the water, 15-20min walk to red jet dock.

Nice touches such as chocolates on pillow, full tea and hot chocolater setup in room. otherwise nothing particularly special about the rooms.

Room Tip: take the front side rooms. They feel bigger and nicer view. the back rooms have no view.

My elderly parents have just spent a week's holiday at New Holmwood Hotel in Cowes. Myself and some family members visited them during their stay and had dinner one evening with them. I've stayed at many Best Western (franchise) Hotels over the years - on both business and leisure - and New Holmwood rates as possibly the best... It has a small family run feel to it and the staff seem to make every effort to make guests welcome - and in my parents case - comfortable.. We chose the table d'hote menu on the evening the family met for dinner and the menu was varied and catered for all tastes. The food was cooked to perfection and served by attentive waiting staff. The view from all public areas of the hotel is legendary and to watch large cruise ships leaving Southampton made for a wonderful backdrop... My parents chose a ground floor double room with shower which was spotless as were all other areas of the hotel. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel myself and my parents have already mentioned that they would be very happy to return in the future to New Holmwood. A credit to the Best Western franchise.

This hotel is like a bed and breakfast - small with attentive personal care. Beautiful view across from the water within walking distance to many restaurants, the ferry.
Breakfast is very good. Beds are a little short in length but otherwise comfortable.

Room Tip: Upstairs Room 11 has a great view and outside long balcony with access to lower level.

We stay three times a year and think it's brilliant. Lovely staff, caring personal service run by a long established team, good food, clean and well appointed rooms, superb location looking over the Solent. Staying at the New Holmwood makes our regular visits to Cowes something special.
