Lovely Italian food with a good welcome. My wife had the spagetti bolognaise which was very generous and tasty. My pizza was a good size and beautifully cooked.

“Pretty average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

We have eaten here many times and I think the only reason we come back is because the choice in Cowes is pretty limited.
It's not cheap and the food is average.

“Top quality Italian restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

This restaurant has been established since 1979 and it is clear why it has lasted in a very competitive environment. Although restaurant interior style is a little dated do not let this put you off - the food is top quality. We were provided with a complimentary plate of bruschetta and mindful of large portions referenced in other reviews we went straight to main course with a bottle of Verdicchio which at first glance seemed a little pricey but it really was an excellent bottle. I had a fish platter which had amazing amounts of sea bass, red mullet, salmon and calamari - a really excellent meal with no room for dessert (on this occasion!). Plentiful Vegetables also cooked superbly.

“Lovely Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

We were greeted at the do and given a choice of table. The food was very good and reasonable for Island prices.

Wine was expensive but we were treated very well

“Pleasantly surprised .... a very good meal!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

As the restaurant is in walking distance we went last night.
Friendly welcome from the Italian owner, and shown to a table in the window immediately. A nice plate of very garlicky and peppery Crostinis arrived instantly. They were brilliant, though I happen to like garlicky, peppery Crostinis.
The drinks came immediately as well, with the house white wine being nice and cold and massive in size.
The starter was good, though the ham (Parma or not doesn't matter) was more than likely out of a packet and thus sliced too thinly so that it fell apart, but there was plenty of it and the salad, olives and the rest were nice.
I sort of invented a pizza - which didn't phase them at all - and it came just as ordered. The base was nicely cooked, though tasted just slightly doughy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if they make it themselves. My partner also had a pizza ... nice, tasty and large. Chilli oil was on hand but could do with more of a kick.
After-dinner coffee was really good ... an espresso as it ought'a, clearly made by an italian!
Pity the place looks slightly like an Italian restaurant in Sorrento in the 1970's ... because restaurants there don't look like that any more .... but all in all not bad.
The bill I thought a bit high for what we had, but that is Cowes for you.
