“Good country pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Odd that some reviewers think it's pefect, some think it's dreadful. In fact it is a just a good country pub.
Food is robust and fresh, the Butty Bach well kept at a reasonable price. Sometimes vistors are not very welcome in the little local bar, but staff usually cheerful if sometimes cheerfully disorganised in the other side, which spreads from the bar out to dining areas and then outside. Sitting outside this weekend was perfectly pleasant; that is it was not ruined by smokers at the outdoor tables. Yes seeing into the kitchens is easy, in fact for your first visit, getting in to the kitchen instead of the toilets is easy!

Fair comment, happy with that. Gladly, the positive reviews posted do far outweigh the odd few negative ones.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Salutation, gorgeous food, spacious homely accommodation, and attentive service. Both dinner and breakfast offered an extensive menu, and were exceptional. All three rooms our party occupied were tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and beds very comfortable! The staff were helpful and efficient and appreciative of our custom.

We will definitely visit again and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We came to eat for our 15th anniversary meal and we were not disappointed. Lovely welcome, beautiful surroundings. The food was top class, the menu was tailored to our needs (black pudding with the sirloin was great) and the peppercorn sauce was fantastic. My wife really enjoyed her meal and even took photos of her chips for the father in law she liked them so much.
Desert was a delicious bread and butter pudding and custard which went down a treat.
We would have been happy paying £50 for the meal, but were pleasantly surprised with just a £35 bill.
Will return again when next in the area.
Thank you.

We stayed here one night and wished we could find more B&Bs like this one. My husband, our 4 yr old and I stayed in the family room. Really spacious, clean and well set up! My parents in-law stayed in another room next to us and they were very pleased as well. They have stayed in numerous B&Bs in their travels and they also thought this one was great!

The building itself is a Black and White and of course you get all the character features that go along with such a historic building. The floors were not level, and our rooms were over the pub so we could hear some of the people downstairs. This did not bother me as the rooms were impeccably clean and well stocked with all needed bits. He accommodated us with another cot for our girl and extra pillows as we requested. The owner was friendly, helpful and warm.

The meals were the highlight! The owner is also the chef and can serve up a delicious meal! We had dinner and breakfast there and they were both outstanding... I should have asked if he was trained somewhere as the meals were really top notch! My husband and I are quite the food snobs, although we don't mean to be and we REALLY enjoyed his meals. We are still talking about some of the things we ate there a week later.... Fried brie as an apetiser is still our favorite!

He recommended a short drive route to see some more Black and Whites in the area and that was good as well! If we ever come close to this area again... he will be on our list! I would make the stop even if its out of our way!

Room Tip: Call and speak to him or someone as he is so very willing to accomodate!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your stay here and your visit to other “black and white” villages in the area. By the way, my early training was mainly in London and Paris, then various catering businesses prior to my two previous restaurants.

We stayed two nights 26th & 27th April en route to and from WonderWool Wales. Lovely rooms, clean and well appointed; great food and just so much better that staying in a clone hotel. Very old building so you have to take that into account but very spacious accommodation nevertheless. Well worth it if you're looking for something different. A well-kept secret. We'll certainly be back.

Room Tip: Shower in Room 1 needs explanation from the proprietor but it does function adequately if you're...

Please, please ignore the last two reviews. We have just returned from a three day stay in Weobley and ate every night at The Salutation. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent. We also called in for coffee during the afternoon and received a warm welcome. This pub is frequented by locals, visitors, singles, couples and families. Believe you me they would not go there if it was unwelcoming in any way.
There is a lovely atmosphere here - my husband would love to move here just so that he could have a good chat at the bar!!
Keep up the good work - a wonderful village pub, and just as they should be.

Had a lovely meal at Salutation Inn this weekend with my partner and son. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly staff. It was a warm and cozy environment , with a blazing fire and wood burner and very comfortable. Our meal was delicious, all of it beautifully cooked with attention to detail .We will be going back soon for another . Keep up the good work Salutation team !Thank you for a lovely evening!
