Beautiful surroundings, large clean room, not too impressed with the bathroom, abit grubby with a loo seat smaller than the pan and incredible low. Found most of the staff a bit robotic but pleasant enough. There were two rooms laid for breakfast, as we entered we noticed that all the tables were laid for a large number of guests and mainly unused. As we have small children I asked if we there was a smaller table in the other room as I didn't want to cause the staff any problems by little hands re-laying the table, the young man was very insistant that we had to sit in this particular room as we had attended a wedding the day before and all the guests were to be seated together. We accepted this and then my husband said it's ok, there is a small table in the corner, as soon as we had sat down the same waiter came over and again insisted that we move to a larger table laid for about 12 people, he wasn't pleasant and behaved towards us as if we were an absolute nuisance. I said he'd given the impression that any of the tables in the room were ok to use, he said that this particular table was for guests who hadn't attended the wedding so we prised various pieces of cutlery out of our childrens hands and moved. I wouldn't have felt the need to complain had I not overheard another waiter saying to him a few minutes later, which one is she and the rude waiter pointing me out, I'm presuming he thought he was being discreet. I was left feeling like a trouble maker when all I had done was make a perfectly reasonable request and then misunderstood the response. I'm not an arrogant person but really felt like reminding him who was the paying guest, however I didn't make a fuss as I didn't want to cause any bad feeling for the other guests in the room. To add insult to injury a really pleasant waitress seated a young family who had also attended the wedding at the small table and the waiter watched and said nothing. Breakfast was average, I have stayed at similar priced hotels and had a much better selection. Before we left we had a swim in the hotel pool, the young woman on the desk was very nice but the changing rooms were again grubby and the jacuzzi didn't look particularly clean. We paid £140 for our room, as in a recent t.v. show, had we been asked to pay what we thought it was worth, we would probably have offered about £90.

I am sorry about the incident at breakfast which has clearly upset you.
We do generally; try to seat our wedding guests in close proximity as far as is possible. This is often requested by the Bride & Groom and works well as it allows family and friends to chat over breakfast before leaving. As ever I would hope that common sense would prevail – as it evidently did not on this occasion- so that we meet our guest’s requests as far as possible. Your request seems to be perfectly reasonable, I am disappointed that one of my staff was less than courteous, and of course apologise for his behaviour, regardless of the circumstances, I expect my team to be friendly and efficient at all times, and am pleased to read that you found other colleagues pleasant
Please do contact me personally; I would welcome the opportunity of speaking with you
