Big council car-park (free after 6.30 pm) 100 yards away, which is always a good beginning.
Large place - their website claims they can accommodate up to 154 diners - on two floors, this is a very good restaurant indeed. One often sees claims only freshly prepared spices and herbs are used; here it is undoubtedly true, and what a difference it makes. All four accompaniments to the papadoms had the appearance of being freshly prepared in house, not bought in.
Right from the starter, a squid dish Mrs P, who knows her Indian food, said she had never seen before, we were blown away by the brilliant flavours. Of the mains, the King Prawn Pathia was very good, and the Lamb Kalinji exceptional. The Mushroom Rice was spot on, and the Nans up to the mark.
The wine list is reasonably lengthy. Felt the wine-by-the-glass options were a little over-priced; but this what might possibly be its job, and encouraged us to order a bottle. Prices by the bottle are pretty fair.
Only improvement Mrs P could come up with would be tablecloths - there are none, and she likes to see white linen covering her table.
All in all, would highly recommend Olive Limes. We'll definitely be eating there again soon.
