Filthy, threadbare and horrible! Having been charged £80 for two nights on arrival, before even seeing the room, at a reception area that looked more like a dilapidated hostel, my suspicions were already aroused. The corridors are bare and old, with everything liberally daubed with magnolia paint, which runs down the windows and doors.
The room was hideous (pictures to follow) filthy, mouldy, dusty and in general poor repair. The bed was cheap and uncomfortable. The TV was tiny and looked lost on the wall, with all the cables on show looking untidy.
The bathroom looked to have been painted violently with a sweeping brush, and not cleaned properly for years. The white shower curtain was ORANGE at the bottom.
The view from my window consisted of a scruffy yard with an asbestos-roofed shed (storing stuff for the indian restaurant downstairs? Same owners!) And an abandoned walk-in deep freeze. How charming!
I left after just one night, not even bothering to ask for my money back; after belatedly reading the trip advisor reviews, I knew that it was a waste of time. It was worth the lost £40 to NOT stay there another night.
Someone from there (I assume the manager) called me that day to ask why I checked out early. I told him straight that his hotel was disgusting. He didn't even argue.
