“Comfy, friendly & brill spa!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

The hotel is good & value for money for the amount paid. The room was very clean & spacious including the en suite. The bed was definitely comfier than mine at home! Breakfast included was ok, but nothing more. The spa was lovely & looks like new, with free access to the pool, sauna & steam which was perfect. There are a few exercise machines to use in the gym & some CV machines, but who wants to workout on a weekend away! The only downside is that there isn't anything to do or anywhere to go for a drink with some atmosphere, so take good company!

After finding a KGB deal we had a weekend trip at the Burton hotel, mostly to use the spa facilitities and relax. Found the town itself to be charming but very sleepy so spent a lot of time in the hotel itself and and in doing so found every staff member we came across; wether it be at reception, the bar, restaurant, room service or gym to be so friendly and helpful. I think a very rare find in that respect and although our room was very nice (clean, tidy and lots of thoughtful touches etc) and the facilities were a very good standard, it was the customer service at this hotel that we thought was its shining feature and made our stay very enjoyable. So thank you to all the staff, especially Jack at reception who went out of his way to help me find my phone when I was leaving!

Thank you for enthusiastic comments about our staff during your stay..Son jack joined the family business last year and you never know how good or bad a decision it is, until much later on .His passion for gadgets seemed to have been well appreciated here, as he somehow managed to identify the whereabouts of your phone to within 10 feet via apple cyber space.

we hope to see you again in the future

Thank you ! It is often hard to describe your own hotel and what service you are trying to offer. If future guests read this review ,I can honestly say this best sums up the style and service we are consistently trying to achieve.

We stayed here on the 29th Dec on our way to Brecon we had a family room which was very clean and a spotless bathroom and had plenty of room.
On arrival we were met with a nice smile and a tour of the hotel and spa then back to reception were we were helped with our bags to our room. Not many places do that now.
We used The bar which we found very pleasant with a good selection of beers etc and friendly banter with the bar man.

We unfortunately decided to eat out a request from our daughter she wanted Chinese big mistake do not use the only Chinese in Kington not very nice at all.

We had a great breakfast even though it was lacking black pudding LOL was still very nice indeed.

The spa/ pool is fantastic we spent a lot of hours in there and it's very very clean.

Would be return oh yes very good value for money and very friendly

A big thank you to all staff at the burton

i stayed here on business last week with colleagues. Excellent value, ideal location for where we were working, food was gorgeous, staff were amazingly welcoming. There is a lovely "family" feel to the hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying here again.

We rated this Hotel Average, which may be a bit of an injustice as the facilities at this place were amazing. There is a first class Leisure Centre with Gym, Swimming Pool, Steam Room and Sauna, along with a floodlit Putting Course and plenty of Bar Games. The staff were all very helpful and friendly but what let this hotel down were the gloomy rooms and very average food.

Our room was comfortable and clean enough but the floors were uneven, the furnishings old, and the water took over five minutes to get hot. Breakfast was nothing special and my pet hate of the bland sandwich toast appeared again (why can't these hotels provide some nice loafs).

Nice location, lovely town and really, this is not a bad place to stay if you want the leisure facilities.

This is the third time our party of ten have stopped at the burton every time being fantastic this time being especially brilliant the staff cannot do enough to help no matter what time of day or night the food as always was excellent especially the beef Wellington which was truly marvellous. Absolutely no room for complaint, all credit to John and his team.
