We did not stay overnight at the Hunters Meet, but our club organised a dinner dance to be hosted there. We had 100 people attend. It was an excellent evening. Great welcome, pleasant atmosphere, between 80 and 100 people ideal to almost fill the room but not overly so. Food superb especially considering the numbers to be served and the several choices for each course. In order to reduce chances of slow service for the last few tables to be served, we decided, following the hotels suggestion, that as soon as any one table had their full complement of guests (typically between 6 and 10 per table) they should order their food - which would be for all three courses including dessert. This worked well as food came pretty sharply and those tables where guests arrived late, or preferred to linger in the bar a little longer, did not inconvenience those who were ready to eat promptly. Good shaped/sized room with a wooden dance floor in the middle. We had live music entertainment and if unaware of who you want to entertain you after the meal, the hotel will have plenty of suggestions depending on the type of music you prefer. Whereas it is true I have had better meals in some of the top London restaurants, the overall atmosphere, the food choice, the quality and presentation given the numbers catered for and the extremely good value, all conspire to make this place an excellent location if you are organising a dinner/dance or similar with several dozen people and you are located within easy travelling distance. For that type of event the Hunters Meet comes highly recommended.
For large events parking in the grounds is somewhat limited, but easy to park outside on the pavemen...
