We were staying at Down Hall, and read about The Duke's Head in the local magazine. After doing a bit of research we booked a table for a meal on 09/02/13. And we are so glad we did! The food was truly wonderful.
We had three courses each, starting with the pigeon and pheasant terrine (claimed by my boyfriend to be the best he had ever tasted!) and I had the super tasty spinach and field mushroom stack. For mains, I had steak, which was cooked to perfection, and he had the moroccan lamb. We had ordered a side of courgette fries, which although delicious, were completely unnecessary as the food portions were generous to say the least.
After a break, we had puddings. My cookie and his cheese and biscuits finished the meal nicely. A really lovely pub, with stunning food. Definitely worth a visit!
