Reviewing this hotel is going to be very hard because although there were a few 'Minor' niggles, I just can't bring myself to be so petty as to list them. (For the price we paid, you cannot expect perfection!) All I will say, is if the Manager wants a bit of constructive feedback, then he can contact me directly and I will be happy to oblige.
Right then, here goes.
We booked directly with the hotel for an all inclusive weekend break for the 15/16th Feb. (I booked directly rather than use the travel websites as it makes me feel a little better that the hotel don't have to pay comission to anyone?)
We had arranged early check in with the very helpful Liena from reception. When we arrived we were told our suite would not be ready for 20 mins so would we like to have lunch in the lounge/bar area. We ordered the soup and sandwiches and were bowled over with the quality & quantity that came out! The soup of the day was lovely and the sandwich fillings were aplenty.
We then went back to our room - an executive room which Liena offered to upgrade me too for free! - It was massive. Clean, tidy & had everything you could wish for in a hotel room.
When we went down for a pre-dinner drink, to be honest, for 'all inclusive' drinks I expected poor quality beer & cheap wine - How wrong I was!
Dinner was way way better than expected too & I paid a small supplement for a steak & my partner for a seafood platter (You'd better be hungry if you order that one!) - All cooked to perfection and good sized portions too.
Breakfast the next morning was also excellent - The chefs here must be damn good because I couldn't fault it in any way. Great choice
Lunch/dinner the 2nd day was just as good as the previous day.
I'll sum this review up by listing a few things that stood out as being far better than expected (To me it's these little things that make the difference)
Room 117 - Bed was best I've ever slept in, Shower was great, Lounge area in room very comfortable, desk area very useful, good lighting & nice & warm. (fridge would be useful mind)
Bar Area - Very comfortable, good quality house wines including rose, good quality soft drinks on tap. Never had to wait too long to be served either.
Food - Soups were great, sandwiches fresh & tasty, breakfast TOP quality (I had poached eggs made freshly & the sausages were lovely too!) evening meals cooked to a high standard.
Service - Everyone we came across was polite & very helpful (Difficult to single any one person out but I will - Danny was in the bar area on Sat lunch time and couldn't do enough for us!)
My only little niggle that I will say was that when eating, the removal of plates, glasses etc was very slow. This was a pain as you get so much for your money and therefore it takes up space)
This however, did not detract from what was a wonderful relaxing weekend and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone - Will we return - Oh yes!
Well done to all the team,
David, Michelle & Jodie.
Room 117 was excellent for our needs & was on the ground floor.
