“Lovely B&B... Would definitely recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2010

My boyfriend and I stayed at Moortown Lodge for just 1 night as we were going to see the New Forest marathon the next day and wanted somewhere close to stay.

We were very pleasantly suprised. On arrival we greeted by a lovely lady and man who showed us around, gave us our key to the front door and left us to relax in our lovely room (which they had upgraded to a four poster which was a lovely suprise).

There was no problem with any of the requests we made whilst we were there (Vegeterian cooked breakfast, iron and ironing board, wifi). The room was very quiet and had towels, dressing gowns, kettle, coffee filter, biscuits (nice ones!) and bottled water plus a TV and DVD player.

The breakfast was lovely and there was a good choice of cold and hot food.

Checking out was quick and easy even though we did it in the middle of breakfast time.

The hotel itself is about a 2 minute drive from the centre of Ringwood and about 20 - 30 to New Milton/Lyndhurst etc.

In summary.. i would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in Ringwood or in the New Forest in general.

Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

This is a B&B rather than a hotel. The welcome was friendly and helpful and the room comfortable. If you have a roadside room it is better to be too exhausted to hear the noise and to use earplugs. The breakfast was freshly cooked - a nice change from buffets.

Me and a friend stayed one night at Moortown Lodge recently. We found the room to be comfortable, clean, with extremely good quality mattresses and bedlinen. It was spotlessly clean, quiet, full of nice little touches, like the desk right at the entrance to fill in the forms sitting down. The breakfast room is a tasteful mixture of authentic and modern, with hotel-quality service and food consisting of local products. The only thing that bothered me was that first my friend took a shower, then myself, and I found the water to be either boiling hot or cooling down to cold, so I only had about 2 seconds between these two stages every half minute to rinse myself. I could not figure out why as I did not change the settings. All in all, we had a great time and I would highly recommend the place to anyone, Ringwood and the area are perfect to discover the New Forest in style, as opposed to Lyndhurst or other more famous towns.

Travelled from Plymouth as a stop off before going to the football at Southampton. Not to impressed by Ringwood itself but very good for travelling into the New Forest, as we did. We stayed in the four poster bed room which was immaculate, nice crisp clean bedding and an absolute treat to have a quilt rather than the usual starched sheets and blankets as in most bed and breakfast/hotels! We were very concerned at first about being in the front bedroom on a busy road with constant traffic whizzing past, especially as I am a light sleeper. However, at night there didnt seem to be any traffic at all and we both had a great night sleep in a very comfortable bed.
A lovely big room with sofa and plenty of room to relax - it was absolutely lovely and highly recommended!
Nice size bathroom with plenty of room in a good size shower.
Great service, nothing was to much trouble and food was excellent. Would definately come back again.

On a four day mid week break we were welcolmed by the owners and shown to the excellent bedroom which was so well appointed with every thing you would expect from a five star hotel. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and again was excellent. Please remember this is a B and B and not a hotel with a bar ect. it is an ideal base to stay whilst visitig the new forest. We enjoyed the New Queen pub 10mins drive away for evening meal and the Wednesday night quiz. This is a four star B and B which deserves a five star rating. Thank you for a lovely stay

We visited this hotel last year for a short break and although our room wasn,t very big it was extreemly clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, we would definitley stay here again only this time would ask for one of the more spacious room,s.It was very refreshing to stay somewhere that the owners obviously take great pride in providing excellent accommodation and service.
