“Just brilliant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in one of the annex rooms. Everything is just so well thought of by david and Carole. All the little extras that mean so much....fridge in the room with water and milk provided every day. Toiletries in the bathroom. Biscuits on the tea and coffee tray. Breakfast was more than ample with a wonderful selection of fresh berries and fruit which just went great with our porridge! We are both runners and found some wonderful cycle tracks and routes to take in all the wonderful scenery and the ponies and cows and sheep and donkeys that just wander down the road. If your trip to the new forest takes you to this side of the park I cannot highly recommend this B&B enough. We had dinner at both the Green Dragon and The Lamb but I will review them separately.

We had a lovely weekend at the cottage and the highlight for my 2 year old grandson was watching the new forest animals pass by the door whilst he stood on the 'piggy stool' that Carol had lent him. The highlight for the adults in the party was the sumptuous breakfast served up every morning, delicious!

In the middle of the New Forest, most idyllic and peaceful. The room was separate, in the garden with own little table and chairs. Carol and David were lovely and very knowledgable about the local area. The room was very clean and attention to detail was noticed, beautiful room with everything you need. The breakfast was excellent with all local produce, fresh fruit on each table and plenty of cereals, homemade jams, tea and coffee. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

What more could you want while staying in the New Forest: horses, donkeys, cattle and pigs in front of the gate of your B&B, a great accommodation (the best bed during our holiday), breakfast with fresh fruit and all you could want (or eat) and lovely and friendly hosts. We thought this was the perfect location during our stay, also the recommended (and mentioned by other reviewers): The Green Dragon pub for a lovely meal (and THE best Eton Mess for dessert).

We stayed in a three bedroom cottage which was just perfect for our family of 5 ( my husband and myself in one room, my 3 year and 1 old in another, and a family friend in the single room). Carol and David ( who were fantastic hosts) made the trip very easy by providing high chair, travel cot, beach towels and even bikes- all free of charge and in addition to everything you would expect to be provided from a cottage stay. The location was perfect- Salisbury, Southampton, Peppa Pig World were all within easy driving distance, as was any of the towns within the new forest. The highlight for us was the numerous animals wandering past out cottage- they kept out children very entertained!

The setting for the cottage is idyllic and surrounded by wildlife, including pigs, peacocks and a family of cats in the garden. Our room was by itself out in the garden and was very quiet, clean and homely. Carol was extremely helpful and friendly, recommending local pubs, restaurants and taxi firms that didn't disappoint. The breakfast was really tasty with fresh fruit to start, full english and an array of home made jams and marmelades! We liked it so much we have booked to go back with friends in September and will be staying in the 3 bed detached cottage.

We have just returned from Wych Green Cottage. We stayed in the 3 bed detached white cottage.
It was clean, comfortable and had a lovely tranquil feel to it. Fresh eggs, homemade jam and bread & milk made us feel very welcome.
The beds were comfy, useful dishwasher, 2 loos, lots of hot water and best of all the local wildlife on the doorstep.
We had a Full English breakfast one morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fruit, cereal, yoghurt, juice and locally sourced bacon and eggs - delicious. Carol and David were caring and attentive hosts. Its a great place for couples or families.
Must also mention The Green Dragon Pub - great food & service - recommended by our hosts.
