5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

I stayed here recently for just one night as I attended a function nearby ,was very appreciative of the excellent welcome from Shelley and Bill.My room was spotless, ate at a nearby restaurant recommended by my hosts which proved to be very good indeed, had a really good night on a very comfortable bed and breakfast was brilliant, scrambled egg with smoked salmon!! as well as a generous fresh fruit platter.I would like to recommend this lovely B & B as a base for visiting the New Forest Area, it is situated in a quiet area of Lyndhurst.

we stayed here to get away from it all and celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived Bill and Shelley went out of their way to help us. The room was lovely and clean with all that we needed and more besides, the new bathroom is very nice and I didnt want to get out of the shower. Breakfast was delicious.....special mention to the poached eggs!
It is ideally located for exploring the forest and Bill helpfully provided us with a walking map.

We hope to return and stay there again, thankyou!!

Stayed for one night and hope to return. Got a large room with new bathroom. Nice and quiet area. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of fresh fruits. Shelley and Bill are very helpful and gave us lots of information about where to go and what to see.

It's been a few months since my girlfriend and I stayed here, but the experience is one that will not be forgotten.

Bill and Shelly were extremely welcoming and did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay as much as possible. The room and B&B in general, was spotlessly clean, and in very good order. The breakfast was top notch and had an excellent selection, catering for all dietry types.

The location is decent, as there is a good range of restaurants on the main road, about 5 mins walk away. An extensive list and recommendations is provided by Bill and Shelly too..another little plus point from us.

All in all, we loved the time we spent here, and would defo stay again! Thankyou Bill and Shelly for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable.

We have had the best short break we have ever had in the uk thanks to Bill & Shelly! Not only was the house spotlessly clean, the food & sevice we received was 2nd to none. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble, the service was first class. The food was amazing, the choices at breakfast were better than most 5* hotels & all freshly cooked & prepared. I really can not recommend this B & B highly enough! We will certainly be returning at the first opportunity we get.

Room Tip: The house is well appointed in a very quiet, secluded neighborhood. With all rooms spotlessly clean...

My husband and I love travelling to the U.K. and every year we think ‘surely the next B&B we will stay at can’t be as good as the last one.’ Luckily for us, we were proven wrong again this year, because Shelley and Bill made us feel at home from the moment we walked through the door. The double room we stayed in for five nights was spacious and clean and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the large double shower with plenty of power (a luxury!). In the morning, Bill cooked us a delicious breakfast and there is plenty of choice on the menu. The combinations are endless and the food is of really good quality. What moved me profoundly is that when I mentioned I was allergic to strawberries and kiwi’s, we each got our own plate of freshly cut fruit and Shelley mentioned they had even used a different knife to cut my fruit! Now where can you get this service without even having to ask for it? At the Meadows in Lyndhurst! I always travel well prepared, but it’s nice to double check the info you get from the Internet with someone who actually lives in the area and Bill did just that. He gave us plenty of information, including tips of where to eat, and even copied some maps for us. And if you ask, you can also look up information on their computer or Bill will do it for you. They are both so welcoming without being pushy and do their best to make your stay a memorable one, no matter what the weather turns out to be like. We were lucky because it only rained during breakfast. If you’re visiting the New Forest, you simply have to go for at least one walk. We tried the easy walk around Lyndhurst, with pubs along the way, but misread the clear instructions and got lost. It was the best thing that could’ve happened to us. Else we would have missed some of the enchanting parts this forest has to offer. Lyndhurst itself is charming and a short and easy stroll away from the B&B with plenty of pubs to quench your thirst or have a lovely meal. Try ‘The Waterloo Arms’, a cosy pub with great food and a friendly and professional service. Other do’s include: candlelight night in Bournemouth; the villages of Beaulieu, Burley, Wimborne Minster (grab an oven-baked sandwich from the ‘Long Crichel Bakery’, simply delicious!), Witchampton and Manswood; a visit to Winchester and a personal highlight for me was Jane Austen’s House in Chawton followed by a cream tea in Cassandra’s Cup across the road. If you’re a nautical fan, don’t miss Buckler’s Hard. But whatever you do when you visit this wonderful part of the U.K., don’t miss this B&B. Thank you Shelley and Bill for providing us with a home away from home. We miss you already!
