This place is first and foremost a restaurant where my wife and I have used it for lunch, on a number of occasions and found the food superb, services fantastic. So we booked a party of 26 friends and family for a birthday party and we think it was probably the best party we have ever hosted, as to all the people who were ther they jave not stopped telling us what a great tiem they had, how fantastic the food was and we still marvel at how they managed to get 26 starters then the mains out in under 2 minutes to everybody in our party let alone, they cop0e with 3 diabetics and a non diary guest, there was not a detail over looked or any request ignored or not attended too. The we danced the night away - OK this Friday and Saturday nights only but it was a great way to finish the evening

In addition we stayed the night and again the rooms were fine and too a good standard, we can only reccomend the establishment.

This was our first visit to Berties but will definitely not be our last!
Our visit was a pleasure from start to finish. The venue is well presented and has a homely , happy ambience probably due to the excellent staff who are all professional yet friendly and jovial without being intrusive.
The meal was absolutely first class in every way, the presentation was superb and everything was absolutely cooked to perfection. Try to leave room for desert- trust me you won't be disappointed!
We stayed overnight and were equally impressed with the room, which was somehow more homely than your average, drab, soulless hotel room.
In the morning I was curious to see if the breakfast lived up to the previous evenings feast and was pleased to find that it very much did!
If you want an evening/night of excellent food and charming service in a fantastic setting, then I can't recommend Berties highly enough.

We have now eaten here on several occasions, and always found the food to be both imaginative and superb. Presentaion is first class as is the service, and the restaurant always has a very pleaseant abd relaxed atmosphere.

We've also stayed in a couple of the rooms, and whilst they are not huge, they have been more than adequate, clean and tidy with attractive modern furniture.

If you want to get away from the nondescript hotel and restaurant chains, we'd definately recommend Berties in particular for the excellent restaurant.

We have meaning to write to say how great it was to eat at a Reastaurant that still has good old fashioned values along with great food. The staff were just amazing, we wanted to slightly deviate from the standard menu because of dietary needs and it was sorted with out a fuss. The ambience in he Restaurant was relaxing but you could just sense the efficiency of the staff. The evening we were there we were suprised to meet the owner and his wife who could not have been more pleasant and courteous towards us. If you are visiting Romsey or the srrounding area Berties is well worth a visit.
