“Excellent food nicely served”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

The White Horse Hotel has undergone a massive refurbishment and is now a superb place to eat. Choose either the simple brasserie set menu at £14 for two course or splash out on the a la carte. In either case you will not be disappointed. Although we have not stayed we have seen the rooms which are all different and very attractive. The hotel is in the centre of a busy market town and a good centre for the area

Room Tip: Use Romsey as a good base for visiting New Forest, Portsmouth Dockyard and Winchester and its attra...

My wife and I stayed for a short weekend break in March 2012. This hotel and brasserie is so good and our room was top notch and very spacious. The food and service in the Silks Brasserie is superb - award winning Chef and team - delicious!! The service and attention to detail is 5 star and consistent throughout the hotel with every member staff. Romsey is a lovely town - real old English country with the Abbey and loads of history. Ask reception about parking - there is a car park a short distance behind the hotel. Highly recommended and we will be definitely be back.

Room Tip: Their rooms are all very stylish and quite unique - the Penthouse is amazing, the Loft Apartments ve...

I have stayed at the White Horse twice, both times for work, and although not a "business" hotel the staff were extremely helpful in trying to accommodate what we needed. The rooms were well furnished and the bathrooms spotless. Breakfast was extensive and nicely presented with a good range.

We visited The White Horse Hotel for Mothers day lunch the meal was outstanding all served by very friendly and helpful staff. The fourth star and second rosette is well deserved. Sincere compliments to the young Head Chef and his team. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked a table for another meal.

Stayed for 2 nights for work purposes and it was fantastic.

Comfortable room, brilliant service and perfect location.

The food in the restaurant was also fabulous and reasonably priced.

Love this hotel been staying here since it re opened 4 years ago it just keeps getting better and better....

Rooms are great... Dinner always good and staff great nothing ever a problem a favourite when I stay is Kirsty she works very hard and always calls you back when wanting to book a room this makes a difference as so many hotels seem like they don't need the business these days, I'm sure the owners appreciate and recognise a consistent team member like Kirsty.

Some new staff in dinning room and bar but Great to see a new menu at last and great new chef really recommend if you live local as a dinner treat I always go with main menu but the have a set 3 course for around £16.

Keep it up White Horse, I can't wait to stay again in near future.

We booked here at the Silks Hotel last minute on News Years Eve not really knowing what to expect, having never visited Romsey before. How glad I was that I did! We had a fabulous night. The staff were brilliant, so friendly yet really professional. The ambience of the hotel is lovely, really cosy and inviting and the rooms, although on the small side, were just fab.
A special mention to the Hotel Manager ( cant remember his name ) who was superb and the lady on reception, who was so lovely.
I cannot reccommend this hotel enough, we met the most lovely people here and can,t wait to return.

Room Tip: Our room looked over the main street which was good for us as we liked to people watch!
