My friends were staying in the hotel and i was asked along for a meal with them , when I arrived it from the outside looked like the house the Adams Family lived in or the Munsters . The reception area was empty and looked dead , nothing appeared to live there , suddenly a very lively girl arrived with a mug of something in her hand , is it the norm that people have to drink at the desk . I asked if I could be shown to my friends room , follow the yellow brick road was really all I can say , with a pointing of her hand and a smile half heartily given , my friends appeared in the long corridor and we went to the bar , soulless , cold , very un inviting and again dead behind the bar , no staff , no music , no point really in trying the conservatory which was like a grave yard , tables laid but no one there , it was aweful , I suggested that we try the town instead there must be more life outside the place . I was told that they had a 4 * rating , how or why I will never understand , it needs a decent management to liven up the place , staff need to understand that the clientele pay their wages and being helpful is part of their job , I would nt suggest that eating their food is not good but the menu looks like it needs upgrading somewhat , the prices are far inflated for a on the edge of the town hotel , I say that very tongue in cheek , if by the posters by the gate suggesting anyone hold their Wedding or Conference there think hard on it , it lacks freshness , modern outlook or anything resembling 2013 , we all don't want to live or eat in the Dark Ages thank you . We found a very nice place in the town to eat , Italian ,with life , good honest food at very reasonable rates , charming staff and a whole lot more than the hotel gave on just it's impression .My friends returned to the hotel that night and left under darkness by the side door , I was informed that they hated it but did nt want to say anything just in case I thought they were being fussy , I told them to contact the Manager this they will do in due course it seems .

Both surprised and disappointed that your brief snapshot of our business has resulted in such scathing comments. Resulting in a sadly subjective, rather than objective review.
You neither ate, drank nor slept at The Lismoyne but still denigrate my business, myself and my staff to the degree of warning off potential wedding and conference business. Furthermore on an International review site!
You probably wouldn't understand 'how or why' we were awarded Four Stars..firstly that you didn't sample our hospitality and secondly you likened our beautiful Conservatory to a graveyard!
I quite like the comparisons that you have drawn, likening us to The Addams Family, The Munsters and The Wizard of Oz., all three being incredibly enjoyable, popular and profitable films...but not to everyone's taste!
I believe there are more modern establishments in the area that you may choose to visit in future..but I say that very tongue in cheek.
