“Good Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for a party. Great Staff, Good modern clean and spacious rooms, although pillows a little hard, however soft pillows provided upon request. Easy access has only 3 floors so as I don't like lifts, it was perfect. The restaurant is good, with a good choice of food well served. A very popular hotel for parties and weddings, so may be a little noisy from time to time. It is comfortable and the staff very helpful. The only fault I could see is the breakfast, a typical breakfast bar with good selection, however due to a wedding one night the next day it took some time to get a full English as the trays were constantly being emptied, and there was a constant queue for the toaster. Staff were on the ball and quick to replace items that were missing.

Room Tip: Ask the staff if you require a quieter room.

Dear Tiberius1,

Thank you for taking the time to review the Holiday Inn Farnborough and the great feedback provided. I was delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the staff very helpful.

I would like to apologise for the breakfast replenishment in the morning, but am also glad to hear you felt the staff where quick and efficient to replenish the missing items. I have fed back to the Kitchen team to ensure the morning after functions we have plenty of stock readily available to ensure this does not further happen.

Many thanks once again and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future.

Kind regards

The hotel is very nice and all areas were clean and tidy. Unfortunately the service in both the bar and the restaurant was extremely poor. On numerous occasions the bar was unmanned and and service was slow. Food ordered over the bar took a long time to arrive and did not come in order sequence. Breakfast was the only meal we took in the hotel and once again there were problems. Initially there were no glasses for the juices and when they appeared there was no juice. Replenishment of the brerakfast buffet was sporadic and mostly initiated by residents having to ask. An order for a replacement pot of tea was lost in the ether. Overall not the kind of service we are used to in Holiday Inn Hotels.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights B&B (whilst visiting LEGOLAND) (Mum, Dad, two boys aged 4 and 7) .Hotel nice and clean and breakfast very good with plenty of choice. We didn't eat evening meals or order drinks from the bar but the prices seemed quite high. We ate out (local Harvester and Brewers Fayre pubs). Parking plentiful and amenities good - Pool and health suite were clean and one of our party had a massage by one of the salon staff and this was good. All staff seemed very helpful and polite. We would definitely visit this hotel again!....Oh another nice touch that the hotel provide cookies and milk vouchers for the children, which is an unexpected extra.

I stayed at this hotel when attending a training course for work. I was extremely impressed, the facilities and service were second to none. The room was clean and comfortable, the food both for evening meal and breakfast was delicious with a good choice. I used the swimming pool and gym again both very good.
Everything for the comfort of guests was thought of even down to a refreshing glass of lime and soda water and fresh cookies in reception.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great welcome, friendly staff, Lovely swim pool, & jacuzzi. My children (aged7 &9) enjoyed helping themselves to fantastic, well presented breakfast, lots of choices. Comfy beds. We visited as part of trip to Legoland, the only negative was the drive to hotel after Legoland had closed at 5pm- took longer than we expected. Very busy traffic.

Just wanted to get away for the weekend, and had never been to Farnborough. To be honest, we didn't have high hopes, but turned out to be very good indeed. Easy access and parking, pleasant, helpful reception and staff, clean and (relatively) spacious room and good facilities.

If I had to pick a 'fault' (and this is very trivial) I found it rather strange that I couldn't order drinks and bar snacks by going to the bar - I had to take a seat and wait for someone to take my order. Excellent food, but just a slightly unexpected way of ordering.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If there is an event on, then ask to be as far from reception as possible. It's worth the walk.
