We have been to the Nook and Cranny on several occasions previously, both with large groups and as a couple. Always thought it was excellent food and invariably ended presenting compliments to the wonderful chef!
However, we booked a table for two on Valentine's Day. When we booked we did specially mention that one of us was on a dairy free diet. We were reassured that that would not pose a problem.
However, on the day, there was nothing on the menu that was dairy free or that could lend itself to adaptation as such. The waitress was ever so sweet and wished they had known in advance. But we had specifically said so when booking the table. So one of us was reduced to a fare of boiled beans. That naturally killed the romance in a special day. And with it any desire to go back to the Nook and Cranny. And we both are really sorry about that!
