A friend recommended this restaurant and we had looked it up and it had some very good reviews - so we decided to give it a go. The friend who recommended the restaurant booked it - there were 6 of us and we found it very easily (we are from London and were visiting). There is plenty of car parking - and the staff were very welcoming even though we turned up an hour early (traffic was much lighter than we had anticipated).
The restaurant is very big - looks to be an old pub I think. We were initially the only people in the restaurant - but it was early. The menu is very extensive and has lots of unusual things on there as well as your normal run of the mill Indian dishes. I had the crab tikki to start which was delicious - but I did feel a bit hard done by when I saw the size of some of the other starters. We all chose different mains and everyone without exception enjoyed them. The food did take some time but it was evident that it was all freshly cooked so I didn't mind that at all.
Couple of niggles - the restaurant was cold; also we discovered when we were there that it took Taste Cards - yet when we produced them (before we asked for the bill) they were a bit difficult about this - saying that we should have said when we booked and that they would go and see what they could do etc - they then showed us some some small print on some terms and conditions of some sort - they did eventually give us a discount but it was a bit of an awkward end to the meal to be honest.
All in all the food is very nice, but there are a couple of improvements they could make - tables very close together - had it been busy in there would not have been an enjoyable experience. Left lots of empty glasses etc on the table - which we had to ask to be removed - also when we finished our drinks had to try and attract attention of waiter to get some more (we were the only people in the restaurant). Also, from the road, the restaurant looked closed - some more lights may be a good idea. And the Taste Card offer - you either do it or you don't - don't see what telling them in advance would have achieved?
