“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

What a lovely evening we had here, our first time trying it! It was a Wednesday night and they were very busy. We had a fantastic meal and the service was just lovely. We were told there was a new chef who had only been cooking for 2 weeks. We'll will definitely be back to try more of his food! Thank you!

“Not good”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

15/06/14 fathers day dinner. To get in the pub you had to step over miss snooty's dog of whom she had no intention of moving. The staff could see and made no attempt to say anything and thought it was amusing . The roast was tasty but at £16 you would have thought you could it it all.The beef was so fatty and chewy i gave up trying to eat it. When the staff was told nothing was said. would not eat here again and would recommend it to anyone as there is far better places around to spend your money.

“Village delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

We visited this lovely village restaurant on 3rd June 2014. We were given a dining experience voucher with a value of up to £49.99, and although we live in Leicester, we happened to be visiting Gosport for the D-day celebrations and this is one of the places that we could choose from the list of restaurants offered, and a very good choice indeed. On entering they gave complimentary bread with Balsamic vinegar. For the first course my husband had a Black pudding starter with chorizos and mushrooms, and I had a Garlic Linguine in a white wine sauce. The main course that I had was Duck that was shredded to look like a Ragu, with vegetables, and my husband had a Rib eye steak with home chips, which was all cooked to perfection, and to end it all a Cappuccino went down very well. Overall it was a good all round meal, and if we visit that neck of the woods again we will certainly pay them another visit.

“Great for Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

had seen reviews and decided to give Sunday lunch a try. Very busy so booking essential. Huge portions and no room for a dessert. Great service too. What made a difference was the huge range of veg on the plate - so many places stint on veg but today, we had asparagus, carrot, sweet potato, creamed leek, beetroot, red cabbage, parsnip - wow!

“Good food, lovely atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Booked on recommendation and really glad that we did. All tables were full. Despite it being busy the service was brilliant. All staff, without exception, were very friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was great too. Everything we had was cooked well (baked crab for me and lamb for husband). Very accomdating in sorting a smaller portion for my 9 year old daughter - and she loved it too.
