Stayed here on a business trip during the Farnborough air show. The staff was courteous and friendly, and there is a nice garden area to have a drink and relax - which came in handy (read on).

Unfortunately the week I stayed turned out to be one of the record setters for heat, which is certainly not the hotels fault. But, be advised there is no air con and no fans are provided. The heat made sleeping almost impossible and the stay almost unbearable. I have stayed in other UK hotels without aircon, but, they always provided a fan which really helped. Not so here.

As stated in the other reviews, the rooms are very, very basic. Small TV with reception that goes in and out (mine started buzzing after being on for about an hour). Beds are very worn and the drinking glasses were dirty, the soap dispenser ran out and the furnishings are very worn. It is in a nice quiet location - but - for business comfort, I would suggest going to a larger city, such as Salisbury I am told.

I stayed at the Quality Hotel for 2 nights on a Business trip. The hotel is marginal on many aspects. The room was comfortable but many thing were broken; most hangers were broken; the shower head was not working properly and badly needed descaling; the shower curtain was damaged. The hall was very damp with water damage clearly visible on the walls.

This is a shame since the hotel is nicely located in the peacefull upper part of town with ample parking space, walking trails and a nice view of the city. This was obviously a very nice hotel at one time, which has been suferring from neglect.

Avoid. Room stinks of damp. Room carpet filthy. Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. Soap dispenser in shower broken. Room light not working. Both chefs away that evening so only limited bar food.

Arrived at the hotel at 4pm (advertised check in time) to find that rooms had not been cleaned yet. General appearance of hotel was dirty and grotty. We booked three double bedrooms for two nights, but was told on arrival that we could have one of the rooms for one night only, after which we would have to move to a different room. After checking in we discovered that the three double rooms turned into three singles with a guest bed added to each room. The guest bed was placed in front of the dressing table (chair removed) in an already small room, leaving almost no clear floor space.
When complaining, I was told that they had taken a block booking for a wedding and that no other accommodation was available. We were also told that the restaurant would be closed for the evening and the next morning.
We decided not to stay at the 'Quality' hotel. Most hotels in the area were fully booked, but we managed to find rooms at the King's Head Wetherlodge in Salisbury, which turned out to be a much better hotel than the supposed 3 star 'Quality' hotel.
Visit this one again? NOT A CHANCE!
