“Big engines, great staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

The line is characterised by beautiful stations as if in a time warp from 60 years ago, with very friendly staff on hand. There is also a fantastic range of steam locomotives having to work hard to get up the 'Alps' as the line is known. Great fun.

“Santa special. Great trip for the children.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Great time on the Santa Special just before Christmas. We took for children age between four and ten and they had a wonderful time. Would recommend it and will visit again in the summer.

“Xmas Leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

26 December 2013 - Our first visit to the Christmas edition of War On The Line. Yet again the staff provided a professional service one we have grown used to; a lovely festive atmosphere with military and civilian re-enactors mingling with families and steam enthusiasts.

The weather was kind; we even sat outside the Tea Room at Alresford and had a nice NAAFI brew and a wad.

Have been coming here for 3 years and would recommend the Watercress for a day out and suggest the War On The Line event weekend 14 - 15 June 2014.

“Enjoyable Santa experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Our party of 4 adults and 2 children had a very enjoyable trip on the Santa Special. The whole experience was well organised. If I have any criticisms it would be that there is a lack of communication, if they had told us that we were going to be at Ropley for twenty minutes we could have got off the train for a walk around the station. All in all a great day out.
