“Excellent One Night Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

Just got back from a quick one night stay and chose this Travelodge as we were doing the Coronation Street tour and wanted something that was not going to cost us the earth. We managed to get a good rate for this hotel and were struck on how the friendly and efficient the hotel staff were. Its not a 5 star hotel but it was clean and tidy which was ok for us. A nice drink and meal was had within their own restaurant, and the complimentary glasses of wine that arrived when we let it be known that it was my sisters birthday was very much appreciated...We would def stay here again if and when we are next up in Manchester....

Needed to stay a couple of night is Salford, shopping and the Lee Mack concert at the (O2) Apollo, managed to get the first night at the Premier Inn across the road, but ended up at the lodge for the second.

First hassle, the car park is shared with Morrisons Supermarket... and it's not free (Unlike the Premier). Parked up, walked past the supermarket entrance to the hotel reception ..odd.

Reception very good, very friendly and explained use of carpark (you need to get ticket validated to get discount rate of 7.00 for 24hrs). Keycards handed over and food, breakfast arrangements explained.

Up to room, a lot smaller than Premier offering (and a much smaller telly), still clean and well decorated, no bath, but shower with fixed head.

Anyway, settled in, got ready and went out... collected car, pressed buzzer, let us out for free :)

Went out for a curry, Nawaab in Levenshulme, review to follow

Saw Lee Mack, OK, but he swears far too much!

Back to hotel, main gates locked, need a fob to open, drive round to hotel, retrieve fob, open gates, new ticket, park car, walk past supermarket (closed) entrance, hand in fob, retire to room for a night cap :)

Up in morning, (Sunday), down to breakfast. Restaurant very basic, more like a college refectory, buffet style food. Crisis, no muesli, make do with fruit and fibre. Orange juice nice an tangy, coffee, tea from a machine.

Hot breakfast on heated area, bit limited, bacon appeared to be microwaved, no crisp fat, toaster....s..l...o..w and had to put through a couple of times to toast Oh and only scrambled egg, tried asking for fried or poached, no can do, guess the egg comes out of a packet?

Well we survived, bed was OK, shower and room warm, but we'll be Premiering next time

Room Tip: All the same, even numbers face supermarket, odds football fields.

Stayed here on Sunday evening for a 3rd time . As always staff and hotel are very good . Room clean , all towels and bedding spotless . Only concern on this occasion was the amount of disruption to our sleep until gone 3 am . To be honest i could give a 1 rating due to this , as it was like world war 3 breaking out below us . On check out we informed receptionist of the disturbance to our sleep . They were fully aware of issue and informed us that police were called in the early hours . He then informed us that due to all the commotion he would refund 50% of our stay to be used in the future . Which was a nice gesture . Took our room number 204 and email address . Disappointingly no refund is forth coming as yet?? . Overall i have rated hotel on comfort , price and location .

Excellent value for money - what you expect from Travelodge, clean tidy and good service. Location is great and handy for football and getting into town. Bar menu is good value and open late. Well worth the money.

just back from a 4 day stay in manchester, the travelodge at salford quays was comfortable and quiet. The beds are realy comfortable. My only gripe was there was no storage in the room for small items, no drawer space, but no big deal. Its so close to tram stops and media city, bars and resturants.would highly recommend.

We recently spent a night here to attend a gig in manchester, but as rooms in the city were limited we had to pay a premium price for this budget hotel. I would be happy had we paid the normal advertised price for this brand but we paid over the odds due to demand that night..
The room was clean, the bathroom small, the mattress ok , in comparison to premier inns which we have used regularly then this was decidedly average at best. But it provided us with accommodation we needed to enjoy our gig.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Don't have the breakfast it is awful .... It's a help yourself to a small selection of cereals, some stale bread ( ok for toast but it takes at least two trips round the rotor toaster to get it slightly toasted). The hot part was Luke warm sausage, bacon, powdered scrambled eggs ( terrible), baked beans and tomato halves. A local recommended the cafe in Morrison's opposite as better value and quality.

Room Tip: Don't have the breakfast.
