“Excellent rooms with cracking views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Brand new hotel with large rooms and a good sized bed. The Room had aircon but it didn't seem to get too cold on full blast. The bathroom was modern with a shower over the bath. The shower pressure was adequate but could have been better. The room had a desk - if you fancy working or you could just use it to put your suitcase on. Our room was on the 11th floor with unobstructed views towards the city centre. There is parking available next door and they do subsidise the charge down to £6.50 for 24hrs. We opted not to take the breakfast at £10 per person and went for a cracking cumberland sausage in a roll/bap and a cup of tea for £2,99 from Booths Delicatessen next door. Booths are also able to provide a "full english" take out for a sensible price. Other than the few quibbles above - excellent value for money and location is spot on for our needs. With the Metro only a 2 minute walk, we have no qualms about staying again next time we come up to Manchester.

I love staying at this hotel. The rooms are incredibly spacious with a very handy desk for working on your laptop etc. Lovely king size double bed. Large bathroom. Big screen LCD TV.

The rooms and corridors are spotlessly clean. Good selection of food at breakfast. Nice pleasant, helpful staff on the desk.

And all at a very reasonable price.

I'll be back!

Clean and Comfotable Hotel with friendly staff, plus excellant breakfast. Ideally located for acces to main road networks to the airport and motorways, also good public transport connection to the city centre. Close to Old Trafford (ManU) plus within a 10 minute drive of the Trafford Centre.

Couple of minor downsides, namely parking (expensive if you want to come and go because it is non-hotel parking facility) and unable to use the Mini Bar/Fridge to keep our own items in which were not available from the room mini-bar

Room Tip: Ideal Location with ease of access to the main road network to the airport, public transport into th...

The Holiday Inn MediaCityUK is located next to the BBC North and Lowry Outlet shopping area with lovely canal walks and interesting buildings to see. You also have other eating options with other restaurants close by.

The hotel is new at time of writing and well maintained. The hotel has adopted a 'Broadcasting' theme throughout the hotel which is different. The breakfast in the morning is great. Plenty to chose from and they are able to cook some items to order...

Bar Meals are fine also, didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so can't comment.

The lifts are the only annoying thing about the hotel. They takes ages to arrive...

Would stay again, they drop their rates on the weekend, have seen it advertised for £50 a night which is great. Only a 20 minute tram ride into Manchester City Centre. At night a cab back to the hotel costs around £25

I'd say this is the better hotel to stay at in Salford Quays, the Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express are further down the Quays but more in a residential area, but they do have their own restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 15th floor looking towards the city.

A modern Holiday Inn in the Media City complex in Salford Quays. A 20 minute tram ride into Central Manchester that will cost you about £6 return.

As an Ambassador we were 'upgraded' to an exec room. The additional amenities were a bottle of water, a robe and a few toiletries. As we had friends in other standard rooms, I know for certain the exec rooms are identical in every way except for the few extras. Not worth paying any extra for, but nice as an upgrade.

The rooms themselves are clean, bright and modern. A king bed, with table and all the usual other room facilities. The bathroom had a bath, and was also very modern.

Strangely there isn't much storage in the room - certainly not sufficient if your stay is longer than 2 nights. We also needed to change the pillows - Holiday Inns are using the cheapest lumpiest pillows at the moment probably just to save a few pound. Just ask to have them changed.

Downstairs there's a good sized restaurant and bar, which has a good selection of drinks.

One of the better Holiday Inns.

Room Tip: Don't spend the extra on en executive room - it's not worth it. Standard rooms are great.

We needed a hotel for a stay for a wedding in central manchester and this suited us perfectly and was about half the cost of central hotels. Great transport links by tram or taxi and only 10 mins away. Good local facilities as well.

We have just returned from a one night stay, the hotel was easy to get to and check in was quick and easy. They do however charge an additional refundable £50 to your account for any possible services used. But this is rectified upon checkout.
We stayed in an executive double room on the 16th floor, the room was excellent and very clean. Robes and slippers are provided along with 2 bottles of water. The rolm was also very modern and included free wifi which was mych appreciated. There is an automatic mini bar in the room, whereby if you remove a bottle you are automatically charged. Prices range around 4.50 for a Jack Daniels.
The views were amazing from the room, as you could lookout across the city.
The hotel is in the heart of the upcoming media city and has lots if food places located in the nearby Lowry and booths supermarket is located closeby.
The tram is less than 5 minutes walk and cost £2.30 return to Manchester which is more than reasonable.

Upon checkout get the car park ticket authorised for a reduced rate of £6.50 for 24hrs.

We had a great stay and will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views. Also get ticket validated for a reduced car park fee if £6.50
