“Awesome Dragon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Regular trips to this pub over the past six or so years primarily because it has the most consistently reliable food I have come across. The Dragon Pie is awesome, does vary slightly in heat from time to time, but is a dish worth going out of your way for. We take our Mum there every month for a Sunday Lunch as they do three different sizes. Well worth a visit.

“Slay the Dragon”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Infamous Dragon pie!!! They call this their signature dish!!! They need to look up the word INFAMOUS it sums it up. Surly barman/landlord, tatty exterior, dark dingy interior.

“sly - Be warned”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

called into Stagecoach on way home today (satuday) asked manager if he took cards we did have some cash on us but thought may not have enough so paid by DEBIT card, ordered food and drinks. when we sat at our table noticed on placemats that on SATURDAY during the time we were there 5,30 -6.30 pm all food was half price !!! we had been charged full price so asked manager why and was told only half price if cash . this is not written anywhere in pub or outside and certainly not mentioned when we ordrered , this is a sly act by manager be warned his excuse was he has to pay commission on cards !!! so people take your hard earned money elsewhere , dont waste by going somewhere so unwelcoming........ Never AGAIN

“A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Before the M5 opened the Stagecoach Inn was on the main road between Gloucester and Bristol but these days the A38 is a much quieter road. If you want a reason for a detour then the Stagecoach Inn is a perfect excuse - it lies midway between the Stroud and Falfield junctions on the A38 so it makes the ideal place to stop off for a meal when you are travelling up or down the M5.

Unlike many pubs you visit the Stagecoach has a menu of items made on the premises which are tasty and well presented. My personal favourite is the Brewer's Pie which is one of the best pies I have tasted anywhere and the gravy is out of this world. On a Sunday they also do great Sunday lunch with all the extras. The menu has a large selection of food to please any palate and I am sure that whatever you order it wont disappoint.

The Stagecoach is a traditional coaching inn with loads of character (and its not the sort of character which has been dreamed up by a team of designers). The bar has a good selection of quality ales and other beers and ciders.

If you are travelling on the M5 and you feel hungry then certainly consider the Stagecoach - its well worth the detour and you will leave suitably refreshed for your journey.

On a Saturday afternoon they have a happy hour when all the food is half price which makes the already attractively priced food even more inviting. Check out their website.
