My wife and I picked Lower Brook House for a recent weekend away, and we were impressed as soon as we arrived. As a preference, we like small, intimate places, so this hotel really hit the mark. We were welcomed by Julian, and quickly shown our room after a fuss-free check in process. The room itself (Snugborough) was small, but not cramped, again in keeping with the overall comfortable and intimate feel of the hotel. We dined at the hotel that first evening, and enjoyed the home-cooked food served. The following evening, after dinner and drinks (elsewhere), we returned to the hotel to find a roaring log fire in the lounge, where we relaxed and chatted with other guests. Overall, a very relaxing weekend away, which is exactly what we needed!

Room Tip: We stayed in the room called "Snugborough". It's small, but beautifully decorated. S...

Stayed at the Lower Brook House Hotel on Friday 28th Dec 2012. What an incredible experience.

Beautiful location. Fabulous service. Clean. Quiet and relaxing.

Our room had a whirl pool - how amazing and such a surprise bestowed upon me.

I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel. I certainly will be stayed here again.

That you Lower Brook House - Paula and Alun xx

Room Tip: Whirl pool room is amazing. Added an extra hour of pour laughter and giggles.

Nice public rooms, let down by a rather shabby bathroom and none too large bedroom. Bed linen was really good quality, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Delightful village location, but my personal foible is ghastly dwarf conifers to screen out the locals! What's wrong with a view of the pretty village houses, or nice trees or shrubs if you must have a screen?
Dinner was excellent in a small dining room - everything feels very personal here. What's it's not is an efficient, soulless chain hotel, but a one-to-one B&B-type place with all the good and less good that goes with that. I'd certainly visit again.

Room Tip: If you're staying more than a night, I'd ask for the largest room!

Found on a laterooms or booking.com site on the morning of our stay at a very low rate....wow, what a find.
A warm welcome from the hosts & a warm house....much appreciated given the temperature outside. We stayed in Snugborough.......small, cosy, beams, compact shower room, lovely toiletries & some delicious homemade cake! No complaints so far.
Public rooms tastefully decorated & a joy to relax in prior to and after meals.
Dinner excellent......superb food & superb service......this couple know & clearly love their trade.
Breakfast of equal standard.
No complaints at all.......can thoroughly recommend Lower Brook House, we would have stayed here even if we'd had to pay a little more.

Room Tip: Snugborough is small but perfectly formed!

This place wasn't too difficult to get to from London by public transport (1 train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh and then local bus from the station). A 1hr 30 min train journey doesn't seem like much but you certainly feel as if you're as far away from the city as possible.

I would highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway from the city. You get to stay in a beautiful home and each of the rooms are traditionally English and lovely with their own bathroom. The beds are of the highest quality and you could just relax in the room all day. They have a communal dining room and a sitting room that has a log fire which goes on during winter. Just lovely!

Blockley is a quaint little village so can also go for some lovely walks in the countryside. We did a lovely walk to Chipping Campden which was fun.

Blockley village boasts a lovely church and also has a couple of pubs which serve really good food should you not wish to eat at the House.

The House is hosted by Julian and Anna who are very accommodating and they (or their chefs!) make the loveliest dinners and breakfasts.

I would highly recommend staying here and know you will love every aspect of it (providing that you love the countryside of course!)
