“Great room, Nothing to walk to.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

The room was very nicely done and very large compared to the others rooms we stay in across England. There is however nothing to walk to, so if you don't have a car I wouldn't recommend staying here. The pub had decent food, but the service was only ok.

What can I say, large wall mounted LCD TV with a full hard wired media interface (clearly to rehearse all those corporate presentations), trendy new modern decor including an LED backlit headboard (in the corporate colour of course), plenty of lights and sockets, very upmarket with pleasant check-in staff. If this is the brand 'role out' then premier inn have got it right, value is good, but I do wish they could sort the 'climate control' out...

Recently refurbished, this Premier Inn is immaculate. Take a shaver adapter though if you electric shave because there are no shaver sockets in the rooms. Dinner at the (fake Olde Worlde) adjacent pub was aborted after we were left standing at the "please wait to be seated" sign for what seemed likes ages. We bailed out and went to "The Plough" a couple of hundred yards down the road - much better, cheaper, and it had a selection of local real ales. Wi-Fi is only free for 30 minutes (per device) which is somewhat mean these days.

The room was fantastic. All modern, newly refurbished & a feel of quality Staff were friendly & helpful. The pub next door was a real let down. It's not cheap & I waited 3/4 hour for food which was so awful I had to send it back (and I NEVER do that!) Apparently there's a pub just up the road which is LOADS better...will give it a go tomorrow!

Cannot fault either members of staff or cleanliness of rooms and immaculate towels and bedding! The Bakers Arms next door provides a brilliant breakfast!
Have tried the opposition on just one occasion, couldn't wait to get back to a Premier Inn.

Lovely refurbished hotel, very clean and comfortable, however the hotel is let down by the very slow and disorganised service in the adjacent pub/restaurant The Bakers Arms. The staff appeared more interested in clearing tables than paying attention to customers. Not the fault of the staff, a result of ineffective training.
