“Good day out, probably better for children than adults in their early 30's!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2014

Pre-booked tickets online to save 10%, spent 3 1/2 hours at the site taking it all at a reasonable pace which included 30 mins for lunch in the cafe (fair selection of hot foods cooked to order - but £1.75 for 2 slices of bread and butter is pure extortion - everything else was reasonable value though) took the 40 min site tour on the army van (additional charge of £2 for adults, £1 for children) and took in all of the sites detailed on the map, including the 15 min video. Encountered lots of childrens parties, so clearly a good place for kids to enjoy. There is a small outside adventure playground with zip wire, a couple of toilet facilities, lot of opportunities to make and do things and a reasonable little gift shop. Worth a visit as the history behind it all is fascinating and it is an important local site.

“An amazing day out for the whole family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2014 via mobile

We had a really fantastic day out at the royal gunpowder mill. Was well worth the money and kept us occupied all day. Missed a few things out due to having so much to do. Will be going back when we are down south again. Ideal family day out.

Another great day out at the Royal Gunpowder Mills. Loads to see and do, children happy and busy for 6 hours... .great science show, crafting activities making masks, slime and marble design spookies( for Halloween ),rocket making all with very helpful and patient staff.Plus haunted walk together with all the normal activities. Great value for half term treat.

“Great place for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2014

We have been here quite a few times, during school hloidays. There is do much to do, and to discover. It is extremely organised, and timetabled from the start. You can choose which activities you participate in...we did most of them...make a rocket, fire your made rocket, fire tennis balls, nerf guns, rifle shooting, a miniature train, a landrover ride, train ride, filled bottle races, obstacle course, bicycle ride area, science lab show or rocket show, adventure park, museum...and a lovely cafe. Really good fun, and educational too!
