We ordered roast chicken and x 2 roast lambs, what we got was a chicken breast (it was just like one you'd get from Sainsbury's). The Yorkshire puddings were like hard bricks, the roast potatoes were dry and underdone. The vegetables were also dry and hard. As for the Lamb, there was a huge piece of pure lamb fat that had melted a bit and so was like a jelly. Now any restaurant can have an off day but it's the reaction we got when we complained. Firstly the rude waitress grunted a 'yea' when we asked if the things on out plates were Yorkshire Puddings, then when the manageress came to speak to us she said that the fat was supposed to be there as it was down to the cut we had. I asked her which cut it was and she then told me that the meal was the way it was as a result of us booking too late ( we sat down at 4 and the last booking was 5 - so not sure what she was talking about). My friend then said he would happily pay for the meal if she ate the 'jelly' that was part of the cut, strangely she declined the offer and grumpily said there was no charge. Overall the three of us had our Sunday dinner's ruined and then we were blamed - unbelievable!
This is the 2nd time that place has ruined my Sunday dinner, the last time I ordered Pork Belly "with crackling" as it says on the menu, except there was no crackling when it arrived and I was told if I waited 20 minutes they could cook something else, the problem was I was with 5 other people and they had all been served so I could watch them eat and then eat alone - great! I won't be going back here which is a shame as I like the bar and the two blokes that worked there were really friendly. 1 out of 10
