I ate here this evening for the first time and I have to say that I am surprised by some of the other reviews, as I honestly thought it was terrific in every way.
I was eating alone and I was made to feel extremely welcome from the moment I entered. There seem to be plenty of very nice areas to eat and I was told that I could have a table anywhere. About 7 of the tables were taken, and there was a lovely atmosphere which was super on a Monday evening.
On Mondays apart from their normal menu, there is the 2 courses for £9.95. The vegetable soup was one of the tastiest vegetable soups that I have ever had (I honestly could have eaten this every day of the week!). My main course was chicken on a bed of crushed potatoes with a mushroom, shallot and cream sauce - absolutely delicious but just a touch too much for me.
So overall, a most enjoyable evening, in a restaurant/pub that I very much look forward to returning to. It certainly has a chef who produces most flavoursome food, and friendly, attentive waiters and waitresses.
