Absolutely fantastic. Nothing was to much for the owners. Everyone was looked after the same. Owners been there 51yrs. No wonder. Full house most of the year. Have all ready booked for next year. Family or single traveller all treated with respect.

Another stay at our favourite hotel. We had not been for 12 months but the quality never diminishes. The rooms ooze quality with the most comfortable beds of any hotel we have stayed at. The cooked breakfast was perfection as always - plenty of locally sourced, produce expertly cooked and presented by the ever-cheerful, friendly and efficient staff. This hotel is a real joy to stay at. The owners are celebrating their 50th anniversary here this month so we congratulate them on a fantastic achievement and thank them for their warm and generous hospitality. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: All of the rooms in this superb hotel are excellent. Decorated to a high quality, roomy and very com...

We would thoroughly recommend this guest house on every level. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was big, the bedding was very high quality. There are so many little extras that are left in the room such as a mending kit; some beautiful shower gel; chocolate;biscuits; shoe shine kit and also a very thoughtful tea towel to wipe up the crockery if you need to re-use it from the tea and coffee. The bathroom was the cleanest of anywhere we have stayed. The owners are obviously passionate about their business and it shows. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked with so much choice. We would definitely stay again if we were to be in this part of the country.

What a wonderful bed and breakfast. My hubby and I stayed for 2 nights on the friday and saturday. We arrived around 14:30hrs on the Friday and was greeted and made to feel very welcome by Peter. We booked in and were then shown to our room, room number 2, 1st floor at the front of the building. WOW, very large room with a double wardrobe, double bed and ensuite shower, toilet and sink. Bedroom and bathroom were lovely and very well decorated. Big white bath and hand towels were provided along with a rubber shower mat( if required) and complimentary shower gel etc, and the shower is lovely and big with an adjustable spray head. There were 2 chairs with a table and a small area for tea and coffee making, there were tea's, coffee's and hot chocolates and on the 2nd day we also had 2 sachets of cappucinno, there were also 2 packets of biscuits with a small bar of praline chocolate (which looked like a gold bar). There was also a 20" colour tv with a seperate dvd player. The room also had the added bonus of having a patio door which allowed access onto a small balcony, (the view is of a garage/mot centre, but there was no noise from there. The bed was lovely and comfortable with lovely feather pillows, best nights sleep I have had whilst being away. The breakfast was also fantastic, I had the full english whilst my hubby had smoked salmon with mushrooms and poached egg, there were juices, cereals and yoghurts to choose from, along with a selection of cooked items, tea's and coffee's and also toast, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was perfect. The location of the Chudleigh was also excellent for the pier, seafront and town, all only a couple of minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. I have added a couple of pictures of the room. We will definately be staying here again if we go to Clacton.
