“Good location for exploring and the kids had a ball!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

Our caravan was clean and tidy and clearly well looked after. The TV had a built-in DVD player so we were able to take a few films we could all sit down to watch. The mattress was a little on the soft side for me - I'm a big lump - but everyone else was snug as a bug in a rug and slept well.

The park itself is clean and well maintained with a good security presence and we were happy to let our children run about. Everyone was friendly and there were plenty of other children about so we had plenty of time to relax either in the caravan or next to the pool.

There are outdoor and indoor pools with an extra toddler pool. Both pools indoors are heated and all the pools are well supervised and I really felt my children would be looked after so was happy for them to be outside when I was inside and vice versa.

The camp is a short walk from Clacton and an ideal place to use as a base when exploring the local area.

I must highlight the entertainment. It's on a small-scale, low-budget and at times cheesy but it was faultless and always entertaining. The guest acts - anyone who saw the Streetball Xtreme display will known what I mean - were worth a good chunk of the rental fee on their own. Be ready for hefty bar prices!

There is a shop on site that could do with longer opening hours but there is a big Tesco just five minutes away. There is a launderette and restaurant with reasonable prices and the obligatory arcade. The mini-golf as a little tatty in places but great fun with no time limit (when we played). The playpark is suited to younger children but generally speaking there is always something going on and I just hope the resort can maintain this standard. We will definitely go back.

My only gripe is the state of the toilets in the entertainment pavilion. No locks on the cubicles and no visits or interest from the staff.

We enjoyed our trip thouroughly and would like to go back. Were very thankful to all the staff for their help and impressed with the caravan and activities offered in the resort.

Room Tip: a room near the pool and facilities

Valley Farm is excellent for families, especially young families. There is entertainment all day, and children can use the facilities and play around the park without parental supervision because of the high quality of the security.

Room Tip: Bronze standard caravans are fine in summer, and as comfortable as our own home.

stayed at valley farm for 1 week in a gold plus caravan, the carpet was very stained but having said that the van didnt smell wasnt damp and was clean with good bedding that looked n felt quite new. It was well equiped wiv heating tv with built in dvd player. The weather was fab whilst we were there which was a big bonus, we went to the pool once wasnt too impressed the indoor pool was small, went to the club room twice plenty of entertainment for kids mostly aimed at 3 to 8 i would say my son felt it was a bit young for him he,s 9 . The site was clean n tidy and not full of chavs like i had read well not in the part we were anyway .

Lovely clean and spacious accommodation. The park is very well laid out, with all facilities you would need on site. We went with two children (both boys aged 10) and they had a fantastic time. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, crazy golf and a fun arcade gave lots to do. The cabaret room and entertainment are 1st class, we were lucky enough to see the 'Dayglo Puppets' show (They were on Britains Got Talent). The staff were very attentive and courteous, we look forward to visiting again.

The whole experience for our children was amazing. We chose Bronze but will now upgrade in the next visit.
The team kept my family entertained in the Boathouse every evening and we wish we booked 2 weeks.
Shaun was so funny and the only fault I found was the chip shop on site was far to pricey and the portions far to small.
Local buses are pricey to but if you wanted you could walk to seafront in around 20-30 mins. You must also try the Roaring Donkey (Hungry horse) Out of the park turn left walk towards Holland on sea and its on the right 10 mins walk. Great food,Great beer and large play area for the kids.
