“My Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

I've stayed in many guest houses and hotels over the years and this one rates amongst some of the best. There's always a warm welcome from Mark and Cath. The breakfasts are well prepared and as a result you never go hungry. Most importantly they really do take care of their guests and nothing is too much trouble. I am very much looking forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: All the rooms I've stayed in have excellent facilities and if there's anything you need you...

Stayed in the cabana for two nights with my husband and 2 girls aged 3 and 1.
Was pleased with how spacious and clean the room was for all of us to stay in.
We all enjoyed a lovely full English both mornings. Our girls loved how close we were to the beach and the pier, so both days we could take full advantage of the facilities around without having to keep using the car ( which was parked right outside the cabana- so hassle with car parks etc)
Catherine and Mark were brilliant hosts . Made us all feel very welcome and at home! Great value for money and a great time had by all.
Can't wait to book in the summer !

We stayed at the Cabana Hotel to visit Family who live in Clacton. This hotel has a very warm and friendly welcome. We stayed in the family room, which was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was very good with excellent service. It was good to stay in a hotel that was children friendly. I have already booked my room for our weekend at Easter.

Stayed for one night (18/11/11), with my husband. We had a warm welcome, the place was very clean and inviting. We stayed on the first floor and had a view of the bowling green and the sea. it was nice and quiet. I suppose being as it was November, it would be quiet but Cabana is set back a bit off the sea road in a nice position. We had a good nights sleep in a comfortable room. The only complaint (if you could call it that), was that it could have done with a mirror above the wash basin but that is all. So I would sum up the room as, basic, extremely clean and comfortable. What more could you ask for from a B&B? Also, the breakfast (cooked by Catherine), was excellent a good start to the day! Mark & Catherine were very nice, polite and friendly people.
Thank you for a good stay, would recommend this B&B to anyone that I knew was visiting Clacton. We would definately go back.

Stayed at the Cabana Guest House for the Bank Holiday weekend, the house is spotlessly clean and the breakfast was good. Mark and Catherine gave us a wonderful reception on arrival and were very helpful throughout our stay.
Our twin room on the top floor was very basic, 2 single beds that the mattresses were past their best, a chest of drawers which had the tea making facilities and kettle on it which left no room for any of our toiletries etc. the handle on the bottom draw was missing as was one of the handles on the single size wardrobe, the shower room and toilet was small but again nowhere to put any toiletries and no hooks behind the door, the only good thing - the shower was excellent and the water was hot at all times. Our belongings were either stored in the bottom of the wardrobe or in a bag on the floor. One of the rooms had th bathroom down the hallway past our room and that was noisey as people walked passed etc. But, we could see the sea from our window.
Would stay here again if the Adelaide House was booked up, l have to say we were spoilt at Adelaide House by Pauline and Dave.

Thanks for your honest review. Regarding "toileteries space" we have addressed this and plenty of shelf space is now available. The "noise" factor from other rooms is very rare and we wish you would have advised us if it was that bad. I am sorry for this and hope it did not spoil your stay. All other matters have been looked into but again disappointed these were not brought to our attention at the time. We spend a lot of time ensuring that our clients enjoy their stay as others have stated here. We would welcome you back and will discount your next booking by 10%. incidentally, we work very closely with The Adelaide and remain good friends with Pauline and David.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July 2010 - we enjoyed it so much we came back for 4 nights in July 2011, both times with my wife and 7 year old grand daughter. It is very very near the lovely sandy beach. There are cafes and toilets on beach near to hotel, and a pub. It is possible to hire a beach hut nearby - which adds to the holiday. Mark and Catherine are perfect hosts, there when you want them, and invisible when you dont. We will return. Highly recommended.

A lovely family-run guest house with friendly hosts Mark and Catherine. Rooms were comfortable, atmosphere was warm and the breakfast was tasty. It is just off the Esplanade (our room had a sea view), within walking distance from the town centre but positioned away from the noise of the pub & club-goers.
