The gardens are lovely and ever changing with the seasons so I can see how some people enjoy frequent visits and so become members. There is a barn style restaurant where the food is really well made and tasty. Hearty home made soups with home made cheese scones. All delicious and good value. The reason I consider it to be a cafe and not a restaurant is because it is self service. You get a tray, choose and take drinks and snacks back to your table. The only time there is waiting service at the table is when they bring your order of hot food to your table when its ready. I would recommend this place to anyone however if you are not a member you have to pay to get into the grounds to access the "restaurant" although there is a cafe at the entrance you can get into for free but the food is prepackaged sandwiches etc in there.
