“Riverside pub grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

This is a big old pub in a superb location right on the waters edge where you can while away the time with a drink or food inside or there is a lovely garden outside.

“OK, but not amazing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

Good food, but I thought it was a bit overpriced for what you get.

“Most expensive pub in Chelmsford”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011 via mobile

Its always been a bit pricey for a beer but a nice pub.

However a recent visit blew me away. Nearly 7 quid for a glass of wine and over 4 for a pint. This is Chelmsford not Hollywood

Decor is looking really tired - dont think its changed in years- and the staff seem to love themselves a but too much slow and impolite service.

Won't be coming back here again.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

Ordered and paid for our food. My 3 friends were served, I wasnt. When I asked I was told that my food had been brought out... then the waitress brought over the receipts, which proved that I had not gotten my order.. I was made to feel like it was my fault!! Then my refund was incorrect.. more annoyance from the staff... Never again. The food I did eat off my friends plates wasnt even good. Dont bother.

“Nice atmosphere, pricey food and drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2011 via mobile

Lovely atmosphere, pleasant staff, drinks were expensive for a pub and the food was average. I ordered the risotto which was extremely bland. Starters were good but we ordered bread and oils so can't really go wrong. Generous portions.
