We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and it was very busy with several large groups celebrating special occasions. We had to wait a few minutes for our table even though we had booked but this gave us the opportunity to scan the menus.
I plumped for the poached breast of chicken stuffed with dolcelatte, spinach, leeks & cream sauce and my wife had oven roasted chicken with red onions, sundried tomatoes, grapes & wine sauce. This was accompanied by vegetables and a side order of fried zucchini. Everything was cooked well and was tasty. The desserts were good - an excellent dark chocolate torte and fresh strawberries although the alcohol in the latter dish rather overpowered the taste of the fruit.
Service was very swift but not too intrusive. The restaurant was so busy that we were seated right next to another couple. It was difficult not to overhear each other's conversations but we ended up having a pleasant chat with them. They were regulars and said that they had never had any bad experiences at the restaurant. They also said that the restaurant was opening a larger premises nearby which should help with the overcrowding.
Total cost for two people including main courses, desserts and a drink each was £40 (GBP).
In summary, a very good restaurant but don't go on a Saturday evening if you want a quiet intimate dinner.
