We stayed at Northcliffe at the beginning of March. Karen and Nigel were the perfect hosts. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and a lovely breakfast was served. We stayed in The Sunrise room which had a lovely sea view. Our friends stayed in The Pier room and The Beach Hut room and they were also very happy. Pefect!

We stayed in Northcliffe Guesthouse over the Easter Bank Holiday.

The Lighthouse Room, as well as the rest of the place, was spotlessly clean and had all the nice extra touches.

Karen and Nigel were very welcoming hosts. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in a while, cooked with fresh local produce, to order. Enough to keep you going all day!

Harriet and Lily are their well behaved and friendly golden retriever dogs. You wouldn’t know they were there unless you wanted to say hello.

Highly recommended.

my wife kirsten and i stayed here for easter 2013 and had a tremendous stay. The rooms are of high standard, the house in a top location on the sea and close to town and the breakfasts are to die for.............all in all a top spot

Arrived on a bitterly cold night in March but given a very warm welcome by Karen and Nigel. We stayed in a well appointed room (the Sole Bay) on the 2nd floor overlooking the sea which was very clean and comfortable but, probably because of its distance from the central heating boiler, decidly cool. The bed was extremely comfortable though and a good quality duvet ensured a good night's sleep. The bathroom was very small with a tiny shower and, although it didn't bother us, some people might find its size uncomfortable. The breakfasts served are outstanding and all the produce is locally sourced and of a very high quality. Generous portions ensure that a good start is made to the day. Interestingly, the dining is communal with one large table, which dispels the silent embarrassment often felt at breakfast and encourages conversation at the start of the day.

Warmly welcomed by Karen and Nigel at the Northcliffe guesthouse on a very cold and snowy day.
Our room was clean and very well looked after, what we saw of our room on the website was what we got and it did not disappoint.
Breakfast was a feast and we were waited on hand and foot by lovely our hosts.
A great choice of accommodation and good location to pubs, shops and attractions.

Room Tip: We were given the Pier room which over looked out to the sea and a view of Southwold pier.

We were met with a warm welcome by Karen and Nigel, on the coldest March day for nearly 30 years, and shown into a spacious sitting room with a roaring fire in a woodburing stove. With a wonderful view of the sea and the pier and excellent breakfasts, what more could we want for a relaxing break in Southwold!

We had a wonderful long weekend in Southwold, at Northcliffe bed and breakfast, run by Karen and Nigel Brown. Excellent breakfasts, a fantastic room (the Beach Hut in yellow and blue), and a warm and friendly reception. Northcliffe is perfectly placed on the sea front for the bracing winds, and close to the pier, but near to good food in all directions from the local pubs. Highly recommended.
