This is a large fisherman's hut among other huts on Southwold Harbour which basically sells locally caught fresh and smoked fish. It is not a restaurant and the premises do not meet the official criteria for a restaurant which is why they ask you to bring your own bread and wine. There is no cooked fish as such but they make up various platters and you can make up your own with anything they have in stock ranging from oysters and smoked salmon through whitebait and mussels to cockles and whelks. They are all very fresh and totally delicious. The room where you eat is quite tasteful and charming with a marine theme and a view of Southwold across the marshes. They open seven days a week for lunches and I think again in the evening.
