I agree with previous reviewers that this is a comfortable, homely, well-located B&B with large well-furnished rooms. My husband and I took the upstairs double room which has a distant seaview and a large bathroom. The only negatives were the overly firm mattress and the towels which were a bit threadbare and could do with replacing.
However, it was after the lacklustre breakfast that we decided that this B&B was overpriced at £95 for one night in mid-October. The breakfast was very ordinary indeed: cereals followed by a full English but with no choices whatsoever offered. For example I would have preferred scrambled egg to fried egg but was given no chance to express this preference. The bananas on offer were over-ripe and the toast was from poor quality, thin sliced loaves that are unsuitable for toasting: it was like eating cardboard. The only spread available was also an inferior quality marmalade: surely there should have been some more options? We have experienced far superior breakfasts for similar or even much lower tariffs.
Another reviewer has commented on the narrow time slot for breakfast 8:30 or 9am. This seemed particularly unnecessary considering that we were the only guests.
To summarise: a more generous approach to guests would make the tariff feel more acceptable.
Both rooms are large but the ground floor room has twin beds whilst the first floor room has a queen...

I was not at Brendas when you stayed for one night, I am sorry that you were unhappy about most things at number 1, as such we have looked at most of the comments, and have worked to put these right. , the tariff was part of the summer rate for a one night booking, and surprisingly it is one of the lower tariffs in the town for that time of year.
