“Brilliant Sunday lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

We've had a few Sunday lunches at this pub. Always excellent. Quite a plateful, the beef is always lovely plus a good choice of veg too. Very friendly staff. It's a rather dark interior but it's therefore very cosy in the winter! A great place to eat if you are staying in the caravan park just next door. Highly recommended.

“carvery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Went to the Vulcan for a meal with five friends.four of us were having the carvery and two ordered off the menu. The menu food looked delicious and was just as good as it looked. The carvery was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed it.Very laid back pub and not a place to go if you are in a hurry. If you are laid back and happy to sit and chat it's well worth the wait.Food is fantastic.

“Great Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

Booked a table here for Easter Sunday as we were staying at a local caravan site for the weekend and wanted to have a traditional Sunday lunch.

It is a very traditional pub close to the beach at Sizewell with a small caravan site adjacent which would be ideal for those wanting to stay close to the sea and have the pub close to hand.

We had a little wait to eat but this was because they were fully booked and we didn't mind. The Sunday roast is a set lunch and we enjoyed a great Roast Beef meal. It was very hot and tasty, and we would certainly go again if we are ever in the area, and would have no problems recommending it to others.

“Best Carvery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

Visited for the first time on Saturday night after a long drive; very pleased to see Carvery available - without doubt the best Carvery meal we have had: beef and pork and a wide selection of veg, cooked to perfection. A very enjoyable meal, highly recommended. The staff were friendly and polite too which made for a pleasant evening all round.

“Excellent carvery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We went to the Vulcan Saturday night carvery and it is fair to say that is was one of the best traditional carvery's we have ever been to for a long long time!! 10 out of 10.

The carvery was pork or beef and the vegetable selection was great.
There were several traditional dessert options again, Chocolate Fudge Cake with icecream was scrummy! My husband had spotted dick which was out of a tin and he found stodgy and disappointing!!

Although the carvery starts at 8pm which is a little late for us to eat it was well worth it.

We found the pub to be a little odd to begin with, it is off the beaten track and did seem more local, but once we started chatting to the landlord and staff we found them to very helpful, polite and friendly.

We would not hesitate in returning........
