This museum is attached to the Landguard Fort complex, but is a separate entirely. It is entirely run b y volunteers and displays include the town's connections with the Royal Navy, the Army and the air force. There is a splendid room devoted to the pleasure steamers which used to ply between London and. the North Sea resorts of Claxton, Walton, Felixstowe, Southwold, and Great Yarmouth. Another room is devoted to the history of St Audrey's, the local asylum. All in all it is a splendid resource and adds value to a visit to this under rated town in Suffoolk.

Thanks for your lovely review and descriptions of some of our exhibition areas. We are pleased you made the point that we are run independently of Landguard Fort. Do spread the word as so many people are unaware of this difference so wonder why we don't open every day! Thanks again for taking the time to review us.
