“Refreshing to find such good food, and excellent service without having to travel too far!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012 via mobile

We visited a few weeks ago with a few friends and were welcomed by warm friendly staff. We sat in the cosy restaurant and service was excellent, as was the food! So good that we ordered extra desserts to share and had The best sticky toffee pud i have found so far!! Will definately be back again soon!

“SUPRISINGLY GOOD VALUE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We went with friends for lunch at the Windmill, Necton, not having visited for several years. It always used to be very good, and we were not to be disappointed. The bar area seemed much as we remembered, a typical village local, but the restaurant area is much improved and rather smart. The service matched the surroundings, friendly and efficient, and the meal was excellent. A good menu and, at £11.00 for two courses, suprisingly good value, and none of us had room for a dessert. We won't be waiting so long 'til we return.

“Dinner for two on recommendation from Trip Advisor.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012 via mobile

Was expecting an upmarket country pub & restaurant with associated ambiance & superb food. Err... Oh dear.

The food was ok but unexceptional. The lamb steak was bland & the accompanying vegetables perfectly cooked but unimaginitive.

Price represented reasonable value.

The ambiance is somewhat hugely lacking. The bar area is a bit dire & tacky (please lose the silly signs, carpet & awful shade of blue). The dining room is faux French & doesn't quite work.

Overall... Ok.
Swaffham's no1 restaurant?... Crikey!!

Thank you for comments regarding the Windmill, I find, some of your comments quite offensive and rude. How we decorate, and choose whether to have a carpet or not is really non of your concern. A lot of those silly signs, are actually gifts from many regular customers, as soon as you saw them when you walked in and decided they were "silly" you had an immediate choice to walk straight back out. After trying many other local establishments myself, I don't think we are doing too bad.

“Great pub, restaurant and family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

This restaurant / pub is of such a consistently high standard tha my father who lives locally eats there at least three times a week. I always eat here when I visit as it is a highlight of the visit. This is a family run business, a family who have made such a success of the business ove the last years that they have extended the car park to cater for the high number of satisfied parons who are also regular visitors. The menu is extensive and nothing is too much trouble. So don't hesitate, give it a whorl.
