“Another great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2011

We have just returned from another fantastic stay at Olivedale. It is almost like being at home but Peter & Ann do all the hard work for you, cooking, looking after the rooms etc. From the moment you walk in you feel like a member of the Olivedale family, a really warm welcome, help with your bags, checking everything is OK and at breakfast chating with other returning guests while enjoying the great food & service.
We are looking forward already to our next visit in September.

I stayed in the "Suite" at a rate of £70 for one night, which is the biggest room in the B&B. The room had a large King Szie Double Bed with good quality bed linen and quilt. The heating in the room was adjustable being from three radiators (two in teh bedroom and one in the bathhroom. There was Tea and Coffee and a basic flat screen TV and Free Wireless Internet - important for me, as I needed to work. The bathroom was very large, with a perfectly clean bath, separate electric shower and lovely wash basin and mirror. The attention to detail on decoration and fittings was refreshing - the door stop was a careved doormouse and wedge in one carved piece. The breakfast was as good as I would expect in a 4-5 star hotel and the Ownere and his wife were efficient, very attentive without being intrusive and extremely modest about their wonderful accommodation. This was a leisure trip to a town with no large "chains", so I was very nervous about the many recommendations from relatives. I travel a lot on business (about 50-80 hotel nights per year) and usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels. I would rate this squarely between 4 and 4.5 star hotel level ... but it is a B&B so don't expect evening meals or room service. If you are a non-Brit visiting this part of the country, do stay here....it is an example of the best we do for English B&B, it really is!

Fantastic. Have stayed here 4 times now with my wife, we use the Olivedale as a base for our annual weekend away before xmas. Rooms have a charm like no other, all decorated individually and extremely clean. The owners cannot do enough for you whilst staying. The breakfast really does improve the stay and add to the final hour or so before you leave to go home - the dining area is charming and the food 5 stars. we recommend to go at xmas - the decor inside really does add to the festive season, and whatever time you visit, Sheringham is a lovely, vibrant place to shop, relax, walk on the beach and the local pubs and restaurants are excellent. We love Olivedale, and hope to spend many more annual weekends with them!

Clean, warm and comfortable run by Ann & Peter, a very nice, friendly and helpful couple. Great attention to detail and an excellent breakfast and plenty of it. Highly recommended.
Sheringham is a pleasant and quiet little town well served by pubs and restaurants many of which are literally a stone's throw away from Olivedale. Check out 'The Bank' an Indian restaurant with a difference.

Just returned from 3 nights at the Olivedale. Perfect location just tucked away from the main street of Sheringham.
Peter and Ann the owners made us very welcome from the start. Car parking in front (if you are lucky!) or room round the back of the property. We had the Rosemary room which is situated at the back of the property. It had a large double bed and small shower room which was adequate.A nice touch was the chocolate and bottled water left by the side of the bed. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, fruit, juice and yoghurt. Followed by a freshly cooked english breakfast. Plenty of tea and coffee plus toast. We would thoroughly recommend this place for a relaxing break. We had an excellent meal at the No. 10 restaurant at the end of the street, and also at the Marmalade Bistro which is nearby. Sheringham is best described as a proper seaside town and is well worth a visit. We were there during the Steam Railway Rally.
