“hot,hearty and wholesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

On a week's holiday to sheringham and one of the locals told us to check out the Tyneside club for Sunday lunch. "They do the best gravy!" He said. Well we went and he was right. I had the lamb shank, 11:50 and my husband had Sunday roast 8:50, with 5 yes 5 veg!. All was hot and tasty, great pub grub and staff were friendly too. Well worth a visit. Ps cheaper beer too!!

“Reliable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

We have used the Tyneside many times. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is good pub food at a good price If you're here for a week then the budget stretches much further here than some other restaurants . The club is used by a lot of locals - always a good sign - its often as busy in winter as it is in summer. Because its well used the beer is turned over quickly and good.
If you want to get a meal at an odd time talk to Dee and she will do her best to accommodate you - but don't try a friendly banter cos you'll always lose !

One final word keep your eye open for the entertainment advertised on the boards outside - some really good acts and usually free.

This is a members club but for a very small fee you can buy a daily membership.

“Friendly club”

We liked the fact that good quality meals are available every night.
There was bingo on sun-tues-thursday.

“Freindly and welcoming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

We visited the Tyneside Club whilst spending a few days in Sheringham. The beer was excellent, the staff, décor and cleanliness very good.

There is an extensive menu for such a small restaurant, I decided on the Crab salad, unfortunately even though the Crab salad is advertised as a special on a very big sign on the bar, there is no Crab to be had mid week. I went for the prawn salad instead, lots of small prawns in a cocktail sauce, with a few bigger prawns placed on top. Small prawns ok, no taste at all in the bigger prawns, simply cosmetic garnish. A passable salad but not worth the cost. My husband ordered the Scampi and chips. Scampi overcooked, a tiny portion of oven chips and poor quality frozen peas on one half of the plate, lettuce tomato and a spring onion on the other half of the plat. Not good.

The food served is advertised in a way to lead you to believe it is fresh home cooked, I feel everything served is pre cooked bought in from a catering company, heated and served.
