Food was sensational but you expect that from Galton Blackiston, what I did not expect was the luxurious hotel, our room was amazing. All the little touches made it so special, hope to return soon. The room was so tranquil and relaxing it was a miracle I managed to leave.

We had a meal at Moreston Hall and we had an amazing time. The meal tasted delicious and the flight of wines were aptly matched. Absolutely faultless right through from the venue to the service. There was so much attention to detail from the beautiful dishes the food was served on to the explanations from the sommelier. I would truly recommend this.

I took my partner as a present for the weekend and it was a brilliant experience. The food alone is worth going for and the service is very attentive without being stuffy.

We were even lucky enough to meet Galton who came to meet diners on our first night which was a brilliant surprise.

Apart from saying it’s seasonal, I can’t describe the food, you just have to experience it for yourself. Ignore the bill- it’s worth it!

The rooms are stylish and classic with old-world charm. We stayed in a room within the original building- I’d initially booked one of the newly-built chalets but changed it after reading reviews that they didn’t have as much character. We had a beautiful view of the gardens and all the mod-cons you’d expect in any modern hotel (including a TV in the bathroom!).

My one and only criticism is that I feel the rooms could do with an update. They do look a bit tired. The bath/ shower in our bathroom leaked and created a puddle on the floor whenever it was used, and the laminate was lifting at the sides. This wouldn't usually bother me but when you are paying close to £1000 for 2 nights you can afford to nit-pick!

I will definitely go back for another meal at least and highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a treat or a meal for a special occasion.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building, it's got bags more character

We visited Morston Hall for our wedding anniversary last year and were not disappointed ! From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the wonderful meal we had in the evening, the visit was pure pleasure. The service was pleasant and not intrusive and the food faultless and interesting.
My only quibble was that the bedroom was a little overheated and I couldn't open the window - however, that was a minor problem and the facilities in the room made up for it. Fresh milk and a TV in the bathroom among other things !
Its a lovely place to stay with some stunning walks in the surrounding countryside

The highest praise I can possibly give is that I could not find, nor think of, one single criticism or fault in any way at all, rare indeed for me! We spent three nights there and dont think we have had better food anywhere. It is a set menu comprising of about 7 courses, each one bursting with incredible flavours and exquisite presentation. As marvellous as the food was, so too were all the staff. It is rare to find such enthusiasm and professionalism throughout the whole team, who are totally committed to making your stay warm and welcoming. The room was perfect, with a terrace you could step out to and enjoy the sun, if you are lucky enough to see it. We stayed in the new block, about 100 yard walk to the main building. Superb bathroom. We also had a tour of the kitchen which was inspiring. Cant wait to return.

Room Tip: We stayed in the new block about 100 yards from the main building, extremely comfortable

We have just returned from north Norfolk where we had a short break with my brother and his wife. This area is stunningly attractive in a wild and windswept sort of way. The walking was bracing and the small villages delightful. And to cap it all we stayed at Morston Hall. We were very efficiently whisked to our rooms which were in a new block about 50 yards from the main hotel buildings. We were in room called Thrift and it was warm, clean, very comfortable and well equipped.
To match our multi course dinner we took the Wine Flight which paired up a matching wine for each course we ate. The whole evening was a major success. The food was sublime and the wines enhanced our experience. Our service was excellent being very effective but quite unobtrusive. We left the dining room after 7 courses but without being over faced.
The Breakfast served the following day maintained our delight.
There are very few establishments who provide this level of culinary excellence matched by very pleasant levels of service. Be in no doubt that we will be returning in due course.

Room Tip: i believe the new rooms in the detached block are a little bigger.

First visit to Morston Hall for our anniversary. We were welcomed and shown to our room which had everything you would expect from this standard of hotel. The meal was the best we have ever had with service to match. Take the option of the " wine flight" to compliment the courses as it added so much more to the experience.
We will definately be returning and would recommend without hesitation !!
